Doing some pretty major updates to tilvids tonight. Expect long stretches of downtime...sorry for the interruption!
This is what buying into big tech looks like. Support open-source and federated services.

European YouTuber escapes US tech giants by...posting video to YouTube? The irony. Next time use #PeerTube @peertube@framapiaf.org

There are alternatives to YouTube. If you continue using YouTube, despite knowing this, you support it.
Another interesting video from @picopixl@mstdn.social vibe-coding series. :ms_robot:

@bloodaxe@fosstodon.org I don't actually know. I just went to update (via yunohost) and it says we're up to the most recent available version. I wish I had used Docker to install originally, but I barely knew what I was doing at the time (I know a lot more now). It'd be a tremendous amount of work to redo it at this point, and I just have a lot less available time, unfortunately.
Someday I hope to transfer over control of the instance to a non-profit board or something so they can more properly run it. 🙂

I get it, I make content myself. For creators making general content, posting to PeerTube is extra work that many don't have time for. However, if your content is dedicated to topics around open source and ending reliance on US tech companies, you should put in that extra effort and be the change you want to see.
Look at @thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social as the shining example. I know it's extra work (especially since YouTube blocked us), but he puts in the effort because it's the right thing to do.
@bloodaxe@fosstodon.org I'll have to look into it. Last time I tried to upgrade it was...messy...
@Kierkegaanks@beige.party @peertube@framapiaf.org
Post to both.
@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social Ideally it should be loading the thumbnail for the video. Is it not doing that for you?
