I'm just a guy that loves #gaming and #opensource, despite not understanding how it all works 😁

I'm hoping that I can find the time and energy to learn more about coding, so I can contribute to FOSS projects in the future 😄

Still holding the line for #Squadron42 and #StarCitizen, just barely... 🥲

My posts will delete themselves after 2 months, unless they contain media or get pinned by me.

@lmgenealogy@mstdn.ca hmm, I never considered "mixing" games, that might make it easier and more viable to review longer games in parallel with shorter ones 🤔

Thank you GOG for providing me with a quality service where I actually OWN my purchases.

It is, of course, crazy having to praise that. Because owning the things you buy should just be common sense. But here we are 🙃

GOG is doing the right thing, without requiring pressure from lawmakers. Vote with your wallet folks! 😘

@fsfe@mastodon.social Wouldn't this be a more important time than ever to inform the current users of X about the issues of their own platform? I'm all for the Fediverse, but we also need people to see that an alternative exists, and orgs like yourself cannot reach them when you're not in their current space. How do you plan on reaching these users now, and avoid entering a complete echo-chamber?

@catraxx@tech.lgbt @vintagestory@mastodon.gamedev.place In terms of their logo, I agree. Frankly they both have too much going on 😅 But then again, it really sets them apart from all the "minimalist" stuff we see these days. If we're going with tons of details anyway, I prefer the one on the right. It matches the game's vibes a lot more than the current logo. Edit: I'll add that I think they will need to redesign the text as well, because it looks a little out of place compared to the new logo.

@catraxx@tech.lgbt @vintagestory@mastodon.gamedev.place The user Nicodemus on the forum had a great icon/logo example - simply a rusty gear with some moss and mushrooms growing on-top of it. It's easy to read from a distance, and still captures the "green on top, rusty gears underneath the crust" vibe.

@docdanny@mastodon.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu How would you avoid those European platforms just becoming propaganda-machines in their own rights? I think the only truly viable approach is the Fediverse (or similar initiative), where no central entity "owns" the SoMe/Protocol.

Not gonna lie, not quite feeling the new "Aurora Mk-II" that's coming out. I mean it's a decent looking ship, but it does not feel like an Aurora at all! #StarCitizen #AuroraMkII #Gaming

@flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social I mean it's about time. I really like GOG, actually owning my games is important to me. But it's also important that I'm not getting a sub-par product, and this has been a problem for a while now. Glad to at least see it acknowledged, now I'm waiting for concrete actions 😄

@scopique@gamepad.club If they fix these issues, you no longer need to constantly return to station to refuel the tanks, making you operate out in the field for longer (a good thing IMO).

@ezlin@gamepad.club Yeah. It is a starter-ship tho, so at least it fills a similar role to the Aurora Mk-I. But the design language is compleeeetely different.

What I fear is that they will leave the old Aurora to bit-rot once this is out... I really hope that won't be the case, cause that would be such a spit in the face of OG backers who helped fund CIG in the first place 😒

I'm trying to start a gaming-club (like a book-club but for gaming) with my friends. Many of them are eager to join, kind of surprised! 😃 Do you have any good tips on how to do these things? Anything we should be mindful of going into it? I thought we could gather everyone's favorite (but also a bit obscure?) games in a list, and just choose a random one and get to it. Maybe give them a month or two to play through it and make notes/review it? 🤔 #Gaming #VideoGames #Club #Review #AskFedi

@scopique@gamepad.club The commercial is a banger. But the realities around refueling is another matter. Tiny ships like the Avenger, Gladius etc eats away 15-19 SCU of fuel - where do they even keep that amout of fuel? This forces you to return to station after every refuel contract, more or less. CIG needs to re-balance ship fuel consumption - individual ship tanks need to be smaller, and thrusters need to be adjusted to consume less fuel so that they effectively match current operational expectancy.

@crazyeddie@mastodon.social @fsfe@mastodon.social Echo-chambers stagnates growth of both mind and culture. It's the inbreeding of ideas, and inbreeding is not good. Not saying people should not enjoy their echo-chambers; sometimes that is precisely what you need. But it's not exactly the best place to reach a new audience, or to test the robustness of your ideas. X has tons of monthly active users, and tons of their users simply have not considered the alternatives out there out of habit. Shine a light to guide them, friend!

@docdanny@mastodon.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu If EU actually backed Fediverse, it would totaly have leverage against FB and X. The tech is not the issue, it's getting the people to use it - which would be the same problem for the EU regardless. Might as well build on top of something that is already there.

@darkwiiplayer@tech.lgbt I'm also just against "antiquating" OG-backers ships for MkII before the game is even properly released 🙃 t's not horrible IF they keep the old models up-to-date at the same level as the new ones, but I don't like the precedence this sets 😒 But, I guess they got away with the Hornet MkII, the community has spoken with their wallets... again...
