The coastal waters & beaches, rocky coastlines, estuaries, deep forests with wildlife, and marine life, are part of the fabric and soul of #VancouverIsland and British Columbia.
Gorgeous. Grounding.

Swiss pollution monitoring company IQAir found...
"air quality is deteriorating globally, largely due to human-caused climate change. Wildfire smoke, in particular, drove poor air quality in 2025, along with dust storms and other extreme weather events intensified by the burning of #FossilFuels"
The WHO set safe limits for PM2.5 or fine particulate matter due to their associated health risks -- tiny, inhalable PM 2.5 particles can travel deep into the lungs and enter the bloodstream.
"They have been linked to respiratory issues, cardiovascular diseases, and long-term illnesses like cancer."

Maybe part of that push is coming from the family who owns the Ambassador Bridge? They wanted compensation for "what they claim is the new bridge's infringement on their exclusive right to collect tolls."
The prez endorsed Gordie Howe International Bridge in 2017, despite the Detroit-based family appealing to stop the new crossing.

There's actually a coined term for that by the Canadian Shield Institute: "sovereignty-washing".
(you may have come across it earlier today in The Tyee)
It's not what some Canadians may think it is.
It's conducted by lobbyists. Some Canadians may be falling for it unwittingly.

Someone new is crafting his speeches, seeming to rebrand him, with a game of Twister.
PP whipped back around in today's Toronto speech, "blamed the federal government" and stated "decades of close economic integration... brought prosperity but also “complacency,” leaving Canada overly dependent".
Which PM and poli party signed agreements to initiate the integration?
PP argued that Canada "blocked its own resource development".
The Trudeau/Liberal government acquired Trans Mountain Pipeline extension at a ballooning cost to Canadian taxpayers.
PP argued for "strengthening energy production". Meaning: oil & gas.
Most of the companies with large stakes in the tarsands are foreign with profits going out of Canada.
