@nixCraft@mastodon.social Yeah fine, but not having an Email is simply not an option for basically anyone. It takes a special kind of privilege to be able to afford this so while there's of course merit to not be reachable (at least temporarily), this has almost no value for anyone but this particular dude.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I'm sorry, I don't understand this. I haven't done the math myself but it seems obvious that this whole endeavour just isn't worth it and the money would be better spent elsewhere. Battery technology or something. But then why do it at all? I don't get it.

@killyourfm Relatable. Piracy is also not something I'm prone to doing but in recent years it more and more seems like the most sensible option.
Or maybe that's just me.

I'm thinking about setting up a replication target for the zfs pool on my server. Can anyone recommend a machine that needs little power, is fanless and can hold 2 SATA HDDs?
Is there such a thing?
My server is an HP small form factor desktop PC and I just could vet another one of those but the fan noise is a bit annoying.

@homelab@fedigroups.social Hey people, can anyone recommend a somewhat minimalist workflow for managing Docker compose container deployments (not with K8s) and integrating it with git? I'm looking at ways to make my current setup more GitOps-like, I ha e my stuff in a repo and deployments and updates are done with Ansible playbooks.

I'm not aware of credit card providers that are not US-based but I'll admit that I did not conduct a ton of research in this direction. Are there any alternatives worth mentioning?

I think, instead of buying a Steam Machine, I'll get a prebuilt PC for about the same money. It'll have significantly more performance and I don't rely on the form factor or the console-like features anyway.
Unfortunately, I'm not terribly well-versed in what combo of hardware makes most sense, and I'm not sure how reliable all those websites with FPS estimators are. Do I know anyone who is more knowledgeable in this field?
