Fair warning to minors, very occasionally this account has lewd content, and I'm a cranky old bitch yelling at people.
No politics...? Yeah, no, YES politics, because other people chose to brand practically all my life as "political", an "issue", or a "debate".

"When you're walking down the street, you show your face to the world, so of course it's fair game for anyone to just plant a huge wet kiss on it, right? We provide these robots that will kiss you anytime you step out the door! It's wonderful!
Of course, if you don't want that, you can always opt out by wearing this special shirt that you basically have to find out about by one of our robots kissing you first."

I just got a reminder that my name became my legal name seven years ago, alongside updated gender marker. Being in Germany, it went according to the at the time medicalizing, humiliating law that mandated a legal procedure involving a judge. The judge in my mind being the most sympathetic, friendly person in it all, but that was me being lucky.
7 years, already. Just 7 years, too. A lifetime ago. So much happened since, in so little time. It's a little dizzying to imagine. And I nearly completely forgot, even if I remember the day as it happened so clearly. The joy and the triumph. Also the bitter disappointment at my ex-wife. But that was then. This is now. Apart from my own chain of memories, there is nearly nothing connecting "then" to "now".

#WordWeavers 2026-07-02: What’s the hardest emotion for you to write and why?
Not per se hard to write, but write in a way that conveys things in their full depth and intensity... any of them. I'm an AuDHDer. People have difficulty reading my emotions, because they don't happen like they do for others, apparently. But I assure you, they are there, they are big. They often are so big that they get stuck in the door and have difficulty squeezing themselves in, they are big enough to fill the room and suffocate everything else - but I express them in hard for people to read tells (until I don't). And the same happens in writing: the little tells get lost, so the assumption is, they weren't there.
#WordWeavers 2026-07-01: If your MC wore teeshirts, what would be on their favorite one?
I'll have to yank Pergene into this world for that, show her options and all...
But all that done, her favourite would be one that was less designed than more constructed along the lines of use for workouts. Formfitting cut, mesh elements, moisture wicking, cooling material, the works. With a print resembling armor. In purple.
... if this seems weirdly specific to you, that's because she just took one from my wardrobe.
Sometimes I feel I should start making youtube videos about this kind of stuff, but then, you'd have to hear me talk - you're better off reading this.
Recently, algorithmic social media has thrown a lot of #Cyberpunk2077 at me - and specifically, a lot of hot takes on Songbird. How awful she is. How bad it is that she swindles everyone, specifically dupes V. How reckless she is to run away with that little Blackwall problem. How players kill her, or send her off back to Myers.
And I've got to concede, yes, she is pretty bad. She gets a lot of people killed, miracolously for Night City some of them probably innocent. She commits treason against the NUSA, sells out President Myers to Hansen, and artfully spins her talks of the cure that we believe she promises it to V - although a closer look at all the dialogue reveals that she always stops short of outright saying that, while leaving the implication so heavy that we feel she actually did.
And I say... so what. Because Songbird is V's mirror image. Nothing she does, V doesn't. V hasn't. Or V won't.
We are in Night City, and however we got there, V doesn't even start as a law abiding citizen. Be it as a street kid who doesn't shrink from nicking a supercar, a smuggling nomad, or a corpo with likely an international body count - under the control of the player, they'll be up to worse in the course of events, culminating in attempted theft of the pinnacle of Arasaka tech. And that is where we enter the game proper.
V is a merc. V kills, lots and lots - for fixers, in gang shootouts, as assassin, for money. There are remarkably few instances of V ringing a doorbell instead of breaking and entering. We can give a hint of honor among thieves here and there, but by and large, V is a gun that doesn't care too much what they're aimed at.
We can go light on lying to acquaintances and, for example, not rat out Panam to Saul, or not take 30 silver from Maiko to follow through on Judy's plan. But the full extent of what's going on with our Silverhandosis is only known to Vic, maybe Misty - and Songbird. We didn't tell any of them. Our romances we leave in hope for a cure, and in the Sun ending, nip in the bud any discussion of our obviously deteriorating condition. We are lying, baiting with hope that we know is at best fairy dust.
In many small ways, we lie, cheat, and smoothtalk our way to the top, make deals we don't intend to honour, make a deal with an AI from beyond the Blackwall. We're not concerned with the collateral damage of infiltrating a public parade, or cutting the city off electricity, or destabilizing communities by slaughtering community leaders. Because we have a goal: to get cured from the biochip's affliction. ... what was Yorinobu's plan with taking it away from Saburo, anyway? But we see, if he gets it back, Arasaka gets a rejuvenated emperor. We deal with devils. Any devil that becons with a deal for survival. We sacrifice those beside us and throw them to the slaughter.
And then... we meet Songbird. Our mirror image.
I think how we deal with her is a meditation on how aware we are of what we do ourselves. If we truly understand, if we could stand where a Rogue stands, when she goes to battle once again to Arasaka Tower with Johnny, or if we would go to battle and ruin at the risk of everything we worked for like Panam. If we ourselves could be for V what they need.
"Hold the fuck up!"
... I'm the fuck up. Hold me?
I seem to have misplace my witch hat.
Well. Nothing for it, I'll have to actually put this pigsty in order.
I need people to understand that #feminism is not as easily framed as "men vs. women".
The enemy is #patriarchy, which is a system that is propped up, yes, mostly by men, but also by women who gladly lick boots to defend crumbs they're thrown from the table, and assimilationsists of every marginalized community imaginable. The victims of patriarchy are fucking everybody, even and especially those who adhere most to its principles. So being a victim does not qualify for being anti-patriarchy.
Being against patriarchy does not just mean flipping around who holds the power, as that is just the same evil with new masters.
Being a feminist means to be a proponent of self determination. That means you're not a feminist if you gossip about a woman who wore the same killer outfit to two occasions. You're not a feminist if you ridicule a man for pursuing a harmless hobby with childlike joy. You're not a feminist if you gatekeep another persons identity. And many more instances.
None of us is perfect in these things. We're all victims, and sometimes we fail to live up to our ideal. That happens, we apologize, we become better. It happens because we live under patriarchy, where patriarchical thinking, sentiment, and precedence is normalized. While the feminist goal is to do away with all that, the feminist method is also identifying where it is - and sometimes we spot it in the mirror.
Feminism begins at yourself. The expectation of perfection is patriarchical. The execution of punishment is patriarchical. It is feminist to acknowledge the need for growth, to give room and opportunity for that, while working to repair damage done. Nobody is served by inflicting damage on someone willing to repair.
I've been taking care of my computer stuff for roundabout 30 years now, and that gave me some insights.
Any hardware can and will fail.
Any box you can't open and service isn't yours.
Any cable will fail. Any wired connection is preferable to wireless.
There is no such thing as "autodetect".
Defaults are an OK start if you can change them, if you can't they suck.
Any file you have no backup of is to be considered lost.
Anything you have on subscription is to be considered gone tomorrow.
Any line of code you write you will have to revise some day.
Any software you use will have to be replaced some day.
There's a lot that you can deduct from this, but they are all principles on how to build and use things rather than specifics on what to use.
Put together, it all boils down to something that is very antithetical to how we use computers these days: a simple system that you know inside and out is the best. And Steve Jobs was a rat bastard for the disservice he did us all.
I was called pretty today! ... well, the statement was "You're pretty annoying", but I take what I get.
