I remember that we were taught in school "stupid" is the english word for several words we use in German. I think it was the only word we were ever taught in that context. One day, a few years ago, I found out that it is ableist and actually a lot more negative than I thought. Only to then find out the german translations are also ableist. And it sparks an interesting thought about why we are so keen to even question people's intelligence all the time.

Weren't the stories also written down about 1000 years ago? 1000 years after at least Jesus lived and died? It's like the brother's Grimm fairytales. They didn't write them, they only wrote them down and altered them where necessary for their world view.

Beautiful colour palette. The blues and oranges go so well with each other.

Thank you! 🌻
I initially did them in cross stitch, but it just didn't look nice. Maybe because I'm unexperienced, maybe because the wrong ct, I don't know. But I once saw a picture of an embroidery on what I think was linen. Flowers of different colours surrounding the word LOVE. And so I tried that style. And I'm glad it turned out that nicely. 😅

No one, I tell you. No one.
Except, maybe, everyone.
But really, no one.

I can't compare, because I haven't been to any other sites (on twitter for three days and it gave me a literal panic attack 😅 ). But masto is what I hoped it would be like. A bit like deviantart in the before days.

Excuse me? Why on earth would you research birds and ignore 50% of them? Was there just someone who said "Female birds don't sing!" and everyone after them just called it a day? What about verifying? 🥲
TiL that with acrylics you can paint in layers. And here I was, 20 years wondering how to put on paint thick enough to cover the line art, but still being able to see the lines. And today I thought "Maybe I should try out layers! 🤓" just to find out this is what pro-artists do all the time.
Plus I also still don't know how to find my style and so now additionally to feeling dumb, I also feel discouraged. *fishes out colouring book and pencils*

The middle one is the cutest, imo. But I couldn't tell you why. :D

I am not in the game of how old-fashioned or odd names in english speaking areas sound. But Mildred sounds like 1910s suffragette to me and that cannot be bad.

What about the cold war? And who won that one? Certainly not the Berlin Wall, poor thing.

Thank you again!
This is just the second time I've embroidered something, and I only did cross stitch once, so don't expect me to do something super fancy, haha.
I guess my main problem is my lack of patience. I see something that I like (a technique, colour palette, etc.), have an idea, but don't want to put my all into perfecting it. So I then just try to make it work somehow. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. This time it did.

I actually did, but soley because of the name (I also thought about ivy and its symbolism for eternity).
I had no idea about the Freemasons. 👀 Thank you for pointing it out.

Vielen Dank!
Vielen Dank trotzdem! 🌻
I love how the new Banksy statue is also walking over the edge. I don't know, if that was planned or one of the small details that sometimes just happen in art, because you have to bend around a problem and then it elevates the piece even further.
I just read the synopsis of "I have no mouth, and I must scream" and holy, why? No wonder nobody has any idea how to start peaceful revolutions and waits for everything becoming too horrible to accept. We have to approach pop culture more in the way of training dogs = don't punish but reward. Stop telling stories of bleak futures that we can't avoid because we are mere peasants. Give us more ideas of how good it could be. Let us be more creative through positive examples. More Utopia, please!
