Kenya: Oh, this house looks nice, and it's....oh, no, it's in Graham, WA. Nevermind.
Me: Where's Graham? What's wrong with it?
Kenya: Super racist area.
Me: Oh, right, Graham would be all crackers, wouldn't it?
Kenya: *sighs* Sean, no, stop.
Me: imma toot this on the mastydon.
Kenya: What is wrong with you?
Friend: (looking for new work) I want to stay away from tech since it's bubble after bubble.
Me: Yeah, like farts in the tub.
(Yes I actually thought that was clever enough to share. My standards are low, okay?)
Okay this is mostly because there's not much room between Kenya and me on the couch, but still, this is cute as hell.
Just booked my fourth roundtrip flight over the last ~month. Irvine for work, then Lihue for our vacation, then Whistler for a wedding, and now back to Irvine next week.
I'm starting to lose track of how to live without a suitcase. The dogs barely recognize me anymore. I'm more familiar with the inside of a 737 than my own house. I can recall my KTN faster than I can my home address. Food tastes like ashes unless it came from an airport. I can't fall asleep at the same latitude two nights in a row. My face is starting to physically take on the shape of my N95 mask. I have forgotten how to sit in a chair without a seatbelt. My sense of identity is derived from my Atmos rewards status. The atmosphere below 30,000 feet is crushingly uncomfortable.
I'm traveling a lot lately, is what I'm saying.
Y'all, that "We just did an 'AI layoff' Reddit post" making the rounds isn't real, it was a satire/humor post.
I'm as on the "fuck 'AI' and to fucking hell with any self-centered prick pushing that inhumane horseshit on the world" wagon as anyone else, but let's not spread nonsense.
Is Slackware still relevant to anyone here?
It looks like it still gets package updates and security bulletins, but hasn't had an OS release in 4 years, and I basically don't ever see it mentioned in any modern Linux distro discussion.
