@klu9@ohai.social @CactuarJoe@retro.pizza fwiw *some* of the 16:9/1.78:1 releases have additional picture on the sides compared to some 1.33:1 releases (some other 16:9 releases seem to be just further crops/upscales of 1.33:1 DVD releases). regardless of the original film elements i think it was matted closer to 1.85:1 for its original theatrical run. bunch of comparisons across various versions at these links, i’ll be using the shout! factory bluray #monsterdon

heads up that The.Dunwich.Horror.1970.1080p.Blu-ray.Remux.AVC.DD.2.0-HDT is actually “The Door into Dunwich, a new conversation between film historian Stephen R. Bissette and horror author Stephen Laws in which they discuss The Dunwich Horror, Lovecraft, and their memories of seeing the film on release (2:10:12)”, an extended feature from the bluray, not the movie itself #monsterdon
