@_elena@mastodon.social Won't help but hurt kids (especially lgbtq+ kids) . Absolute privacy nightmare. Yep completely on track with how things have been going. God forbid we actually penalize the companies that deliberately make addicting apps. Instead let's punish the users. 🤡

@maxleibman I love the shit going down in New York. "Oh no don't tax us for owning empty property, we will just leave." Like yeah, no shit Sherlock, that's the point.

@lydiaschoch@mastodon.social https://perfectmotherfuckingwebsite.com With modern HTML and CSS it's not that hard or time consuming to make a good looking website

@a@pdx.social @nocontexttrek@mastodon.social @pussreboots@sfba.social Maybe the USA is more progressive in the Star Trek universe and Puerto Rico is made a state

@Kalshann The part that kills me, is that social media is harmful for kids. It was designed and built that way. But rather than force companies to build a safer system, we just out right ban it causing greater harm

@jeffowski@mastodon.world I have been masking for so long that I haven't got a clue on what my actual real feelings are. I have just turned into an amorphous blob that just reshapes themselves whenever people get near

@kaito02@mastodon.social @firstdogonthemoon@aus.social Chernobyl wasn't an accident. The prototype reactor melted down. The Chernobyl disaster we all know was actually the second melt down. Reactor one melted down but not to the extent that the reactor hall was breached. The Soviet government covered up all this because the State must do no wrong. I wish people would stop using Chernobyl as a failing of nuclear power. It's a failing of an autocratic imperialist government

@RadicalGraffiti@todon.eu It's crazy to think about how many people have died over lines on a piece of paper. Also wild that some people start foaming at the mouth if you suggest that this is all insanely absurd cause you are trying to "erase their culture" or some such nonsense

@mjt@mastodon.online I was once in a conversation were someone was praising Aldi for buying from local farmers. I pointed out that it can lead to reduced selling power of farmers. They replied as if I was challenging their view point of Aldi is a good company. I wasn't, just pointing to unintentional harm their view point could cause. I'm so tired of being misunderstood because of this stupid absolutism of you must 100% agree with me else you are against my view point. I deleted my Lemmy account over this shit.

@alexf24 Remember the true price shock has yet to hit

@farah@beige.party My tummy hurts because of the government

@fabiosantoscode@mastodon.social @mjt@mastodon.online I didn't even take it as such. My social skills are, in fact, lacking. I think people default to assuming hostile intent and this is how we end up in this situation. Also my hyper rational brain doesn't make things easier. I can't control other people, so saying "improve your social skills," is sound logical advice but not a lot of people will see it as such.

@jensorensen@mastodon.social I believe that there are inherent rights of people, and that those rights are nonnegotiable. They should be defended at all costs, even with violence if need be.

@nova Welp that's getting torn off

@mcc@mastodon.social Be a real shame if these were to be smashed to pieces. Sadly Toronto is a bit out of my way, otherwise I do it myself

@frameworkcomputer Eat shit 🖕. Now, more than ever, we should strive to make our communities inclusive not exclusive

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Please stop using flowery language. They torture people. It's torture. Unless I am mistaken, torture is against EU human rights (not that anyone cares about that kind of stuff). So I say about damn time.

@TechConnectify@mas.to The history of VHS is an excellent lesson in the power of established ecosystems

@SusiArnott@mastodon.green @kaito02@mastodon.social @firstdogonthemoon@aus.social Did you know that with Three-Mile Island the computer tried to SCRAM the reactor by flooding it with water. However the human operators overrode the computer multiple times. I really want to find and slap the genius who thought it was a good idea to allow humans to override a computer failsafe. The reactor hall contained the meltdown like it was designed to, so just a very expensive mess.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social It's interesting how the undeserving ones are minorities. I'm sure it's just a complete coincidence

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social What do you mean decent. When has mass surveillance ever not been fascist
