I know the brain loves to pattern-seek, but I love that I shot this tower few days *before* an unrelated #wikipedia dive told me it was a 15 meter tall combined barometer and #London water Ring Main overflow.
And in a way, a cousin to this #sculpture "Still Water" by Nic Fiddian-Green down on Park Lane

As I quickly glanced left, for a moment I thought the lit buildings were huge pillars holding the night #sky above me – a highway to… somewhere.

Aye. But I can kinda see why on the weirdness - something more standard/'normal' to life works as a statue above or walked past, but not so much as something you sit with.

Strong agree - and hashtags are living concepts, that mean different things to different people.
Some may prefer their silence literal, but others like the metaphors and imagery that it evokes - I first ran into Silent Sunday as something around sombre, often graveyard or other memorial views.
Feels kinda ridiculous that people are trying to police the use of a hashtag.

Different people use hashtags differently. This is on the edge of what I'd use Silent Sunday for, but I've also never used it without a caption.
Indeed, the philosophical meets threat of death context of the quote was what put the hashtag in my mind

I think a lot of people will go "Mountbatten-Winds-who?" as it's not a name people are used to (though it's showing up a lot more recently!) so they need to be clear who they're talking about.
I also have a memory there's some stuff in journalistic style guides about when you refer to people by first and last names; last name is possibly associated with having been convicted? (Not that sure on that one though!)

They just make me *more* determined to untick them all.
And the 'pay or get personalised ads' that a lot of UK newspapers and similar are now doing means I just stick those in their own 'box' where I can clear the cookies, and/or they don't talk to my other browsing.
