One of my colleagues came out as trans some months back.
I don't think i've heard a single person misname her since. Thinking about it, it's pretty heartwarming.
I find myself more and more not finishing articles about yet another depressing situation, in this specific instance how so much #EdTech is actually basically crap (https://jacobin.com/2026/05/educational-technology-children-learning-iready). I get halfway through and get angry thinking "we need to do something about this!".
This happens with a conscious but tiring feeling of confirmation bias, "ah yes, another way that for profit (tech) ruins what it touches, great".
Do you get this too? Is there anything to do about it?

If you are in #London and thinking of switching to a better ISP, Community Fibre is doing a good job overall.
They sadly put their "lower" packages behind CG-NAT a year or so ago (anything under 2.5Gbps), but they are good with IPv6, and you get a static IPv4 on the higher packages (along with ridiculous speeds).
They also give out decent Linksys routers, if that's your thing (SPNMX42 and now SPNMX57).

I love that "turn one-off results into a repeatable, scalable process" is touted as a reason to use Claude for Excel: wasn't that basically the point of Excel in the first place?
I don't know how much it says about Excel being terrible vs Claude being great.
In any case, if it really does what's it says on the tin (minus the "thinking") it's pretty impressive. Task-specific software aid rather than "pretend to be human and reinforce people's delusions" does sound like a better business model.

Baffled, I open my phone and check and before my eyes see the line disappear and be replaced by "- ".
My first and immediate concern now is "when and where else has this happened?" and it's safe to say I’ve lost a lot of trust in this setup.

Is Lightyear still the best live #punk band in the UK?
Who cares, that's stupid question, there is no best, but fuck me are they wonderful live.
The level of fun of a Lightyear gig is hard to match, and while they don't care whatsoever about being "pro" and other music industry trappings, they are musically excellent and the songs have aged really well. I mean, not that many #ska bands have songs that start in 5/4 or complete genre shifts in a single song, while being super catchy.
Some men are "resisting tofu", seeing it as a way to perform their perceived gender.
