Spain just became one of Europe's cheapest power markets. Here is how.

@NMBA@mstdn.ca @dyckron@cosocial.ca You know that I'm fully opposed to separatist movements, in Québec, Alberta and elsewhere. That said, I'm no expert in persuasion or #abpoli; free advice is normally worth what you pay for it.
- You don't persuade people of things by arguing with them; instead, you get them feeling a certain way, then provide them with arguments as a rationale for doing what they'd now like to do.

@NMBA@mstdn.ca @dyckron@cosocial.ca families divided.
- Immigrants to Alberta. Often in Canada immigrants are more patriotic than the native-born, but sometimes they're less likely to vote. Appeal in the newspapers they read and the shows they watch to stand up for the Maple Leaf.
I write mostly in terms of advertising, but big speeches, door-knocking and GOTV have an important role to play as well. Federalists should always be respectful.

@NMBA@mstdn.ca @dyckron@cosocial.ca How would Peter Lougheed or Ralph Klein vote? I think #PierrePoilievre has hit some of these notes well.
- People who are inclined to vote no, expect the referendum to fail, but maybe won't bother voting. Convince them the only way to put separatism away for decades is a strong no. Show them ads of how the debate on separatism has been destructive for Québec: moving vans heading down the 401, buildings demolished in Montréal, parking lots downtown, bridges collapsing,

@NMBA@mstdn.ca @dyckron@cosocial.ca 2. There are three different groups that anti-separatist efforts should target, with non-contradictory but different strategies. The hard-core separatists are not going to be persuaded, so not worth the effort.
- First, the people who are thinking of voting yes, not because they really favour separation, but because they want to deal with Ottawa "un couteau à la gorge", because they think Alberta has been disrespected, because they disliked Justin Trudeau, etc.
