Ever notice how people often think an urgent matter is an emergency, or worse yet, something important to them is urgent despite there being no actual urgency?
We are told all of our lives not to procrastinate because that's a moral failing. But what if it's not procrastination? What if it's simply recognizing the actual urgency of tasks and balancing them with the human need for rest?
Procrastination has done me more good than harm in my life. I'm going to continue utilizing that skill, because yes, it is in fact a skill.

The closest I came to death was a near drowning in Class IV rapids. I only survived because the ice cold water sent me into shock, preventing me from fighting the current. My only option was to let it take me and try to work with the water.
And it worked. I got back to shore, vision mostly gone from oxygen deprivation. I survived and made a full recovery after only a day. All because instead of trying to control the river, I chose how to steer.

That's holdover from the old Twitter days when character limits were short. It allowed people to share a complete thought in an environment not designed for it.
Why people still do it today when most platforms have had generous post lengths for a decade, I have no earthly idea.
A year ago @ishambard@cupoftea.social warned me that despite my love for Doom, I should not play the Game Boy Advance port of Doom II because of how dreadful it is.
Well, I played it today. Was Ishambard wrong? Oh, no... not by any stretch. This port was barely tested, was buggy as could be, and I can honestly say this was the worst Doom port I have ever played.
I'm going to crack the Retro Achievements Top 5% sometime this summer. Maintaining it will be a challenge at that point. There are twice as many accounts as when I first signed up, and competition is fierce. Luckily, I just like playing the games... well, except this one. lol

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social It did know I was on a phone, and from screen resolution and multi-touch it inferred phone quality, but it couldn't even tell I was using an android device. It suspected Firefox or Safari due to privacy and security as even that information was filtered somewhat. It incorrectly gave my location as 30 miles from where I am, which is normal for my home internet. Don't know how that ever happened, but we've always considered it a feature.
Now to finally fire up the computer and see what I get.

The computer it had even less information on. 4/9 were correct, one of which being English is my language, that I use dark mode, that I clicked on the link from this instance, and that I used Firefox, but it got the screen resolution incorrect, so in my opinion that barely counts.
Unsurprising that Linux with Firefox, even modern less secure Firefox, is still protecting far more than my phone does.
I imagine that site is super scary for anyone using stock android, though.

I tricked my reward pathways 15 years ago by giving up World of Warcraft for Dragon Age Origins. I called it my Warcraft patch.
I've felt no need to play an MMO since. Maybe I outgrew them. Maybe the industry did. I dunno.

Was that when they merged the hospitals then a patient shot a bunch of the workers? Yeah, that was pretty much where they lost me.
I expect the occasional gunshot wound in a medical show, but I don't need mass shootings in every form of media I consume. We have enough of that in real life.

How is your back? I went on a 23 mile kayak trip, and as tired as my arms were (the wind went against the current), it was my back that was trashed.
