Masto.host

Some Mastodon servers have been seeing sudden spikes in remote media storage over the past few months, caused by bots crawling public pages and forcing Mastodon to re-download old media. I will start installing Mastodon v4.6.3 on Masto.host. There will be about 15 seconds of downtime during the upgrade. Changelog: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.6.3

The Masto.host website and dashboard are back online. The server required manual intervention after becoming stuck during the reboot. Once back up, the kernel update that triggered the reboot proved to have compatibility issues with the server, so I had to revert to the previous version. Everything is now running normally. Sorry for the unexpected downtime. Thanks 🐘

Maintenance on Database server 11 is complete, and all is back to normal. There was about 10 minutes of downtime. If you notice any problem, please let me know. Thanks 🐘

The reboot on the website and dashboard server is not going as smoothly as expected -- the server got stuck and needs a manual intervention from the data center. Hopefully it should be back online soon. Again, no instances are impacted. All hosted services are running normally.

@j@janerationx.social I should have left this reboot for next week, but I thought, "It's 5 minutes, what could go wrong?" Here we are, almost an hour later. Nothing is cooperating this week.
