@Chris1776@mastodon.bsd.cafe @nixCraft@mastodon.social also avoid putting huge games out, that are mostly containing 4K videos, would help. See how the remake Of Mortal Kombat 1 sucks 149GB (!) of disk space, just because they have ~5hrs of Videos in 4K resolution, that aren't useful for the game itself.
Based on leaked material, a probable PC version of GTA6 would eat 500GB or more..

@nixCraft@mastodon.social @Chris1776@mastodon.bsd.cafe have you seen those videos? 500GB are maybe exaggerated, but 200GB+ are really possible

@TerminalTilt@social.terminaltilt.com I've settled to docker orchestrated with the terraform provider. What I miss from Kubernetes is the whole deployment without downtime

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe it's really hard to believe this. People developing, but not knowing the basics of how to configure a server where their application is running, defeats any logic.

@elizayer totally agree. Before LLMs there was already a pressure to meet unrealistic deadlines and skip refactoring/cleaning/maintenance of code since feature were more important for product.
Now LLMs have pushed more on this situation, which leads to "throw away" code

@bagder@mastodon.social thanks for this. It was really helpful to understand the hype around Mythos and also see that high quality in code matters a lot, especially if human driven

@malwaretech impressive work, but isn't this kind of corner stone for a new crop of "script kiddies" that might replicate your work and use it fo r bad purposes?

@riffraff@mastodon.social dunno, I've always learned to install a LAMP stack on some machine before doing any deployment, mostly because none wanted to do it or could do it for me. Then came the JBoss/Tomcat era, then Docker and Kubernetes..

@thephd you are totally right. Now that I recall it, in CMake 3.x they were correctly set as CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS depending on the language.
How come that they have changes that?

Bought my first VPS at IONOS, had to cancel it promptly, since the creation of the server failed continuously due to an "Internal Error" form their UI.
Also the login with their "ionosctl" tool wasn't working as expected, giving continuously 401.
