I guess #activitypub just need some time to sync with an old backup.

6 years after, implementing a ratchet #darkpattern of "remind me later", #signal has finally caved, but not before dismissing the issue as a feature.

- not using a VPN or tor (no i2p support)
- using a creditcard or bank transfer will be logged.
And again anonymity is not privacy, but that's no excuse not to inform.

I'm talking about replacing Discord, not WhatsApp, where network effects are even more prevalent.
Also running your own IRC server is much easier, than XMPP or Matrix.
I don’t think I feel comfortable using Linux mint, they have a GitHub bot that auto closes inactive issues.

Other than that Bazzite has been semi smooth-sailing, for a good 2 years now.
I've used ostree once to roolback an update (btrfs would do that for me on cachy), but ostree seems like a bad solution to a fixed problem (just use btrfs). And while immutability _should_ make CICD catch big issues, it hasn't met that level for the tradeoff to be worth it.

If cost is part due to network bandwidth, why not run as a bittorrent server and cap the upload rate? Let the ai scrapers take part of the costs, or ban IPs who don’t upload.

I have never touched the database before this, the only way I interacted with gts is with a mastodon app or web client. Sure I have watchtower updates on, in the night. But nothing here says reason by administrator, rather it’s much more likely to be a bad fallback that’s not caught in code.
