#DearDiary I was shopping around today at an outdoor mall bc it's BEAUTIFUL OUT, and at Anthropologie I heard a woman who looked super chill & cool explaining LibreOffice to a very tall guy, and I loved she used the word "interoperable" bc I've been on the struggle bus with that word before. Anyway I wanted to join their conversation but I didn't, because a) weird and b) I would've been like "I love FOSS but LibreOffice sucks" & I don't want to yuck anyone's #FOSS yums

Yesterday was SO exciting! I actually did #github stuff for the 1st time ever: learned what 'forking' was and what 'commits' are!

The repeated refrain that #AI is inaccurate & hallucinates & is therefore useless totally ignores how 1) it's getting more and more accurate and 2) even if it weren't, most questions we have while navigating life really aren't seeking the purest most scholarly-researched facts.

Maybe I'd be more intense about it if I were an academic librarian, but even the databases UIUC offers are implementing AI...
