It's only early April and this year has already been..wild. I turned 40, got surprise diagnosed with diabetes, changed my entire diet and exercise habits, got my glucose under control (with the help of medication), feeling like a 1000% better, steadily losing weight and just started an online running program. Running. Program. Me? That one I did not see coming honestly (and if I tell enough people about it I can't just quit
)

Yritän kirjoittaa runoja, mutta sittenkin vain luen, neulon ja paijaan pehmonorsua.

I cancelled my Spotify subscription recently after a godawful amount of years and I'm currently testing Qobuz as it seems like at least a slightly less evil alternative. It also has the option to buy digital albums directly.
That said, it is Bandcamp Friday, the best day to go music shopping, something I intend to do a lot more instead of only streaming.
These two albums are not new to me, I've listened and loved them both and it's about time I added them to my collection.
Corecass: Tar
Chelsea Wolfe: Abyss

"Joko joko joko"
Saiskohan tällä perusteella saikkua? "En pysty, pitää kytistää labratuloksia"
I decided some time ago that I'm done with shitty (not even always cheap) fake leather bags that disintegrate in the closet in a year and are then just waste. This beauty arrived today: Globe Hope Hilla in burgundy, designed and made in Finland, material is surplus seat belt. Love it!
Last year was a shitty reading year. Didn't read much and didn't love much of what I read. This year is starting a little better. That said, January often is a good reading month for me, so we'll see.
I read five books in January, two in Finnish, three in English:
- Lily King: Kirjoittajia & rakastajia (Writers & Lovers)
- Lina Wolff: Rakastajat (De polyglotta älskarna/ The Polyglot Lovers)
- Sara Gran: Come Closer
- Kylie Lee Baker: Bat Eater
- Terry Pratchett: Equal Rites
The highlight of the month was definitely Equal Rites, my first Pratchett. I've had the book on my shelves for a long time, but like with many other well-loved authors, it felt intimidating. What if - god forbid - I don't love it, when everyone else does? Someone gave me a nudge, and I finally gathered my courage and read it, only to curse my past self for waiting so long. It didn't quite make it to my favourites list but certainly opened a door to a world I want to explore more.
