It's a tragedy of the commons when everyone has their own private car to work without those pesky social interactions.
Figma makes AI sound like it's constipation medicine.

@ThibaultDu @zachleat the other insidious part of it is we've all been trained to put our identities into our work. It gives us purpose.
For some, they see AI as a means of accelerating their worth.
Others see AI output for what it is, artifacts. Material in a Material world. It's hollow "content", and adds nothing to their feelings of self-worth or identity.
My concern is for folks building an identity on shaky premises.

It's not just Sam Altman. Elon Musk laid out the blueprint, and his lies were never checked.
Why would anyone tell the truth in the business world when your lies make the stock value go up?
Oddly, the only folks who can check these maniacs are hedge fund managers, but they're too busy getting rich off the lies. Then maybe some government reform can bring in real consequences for defrauding folks.
My prediction is that tech job interviews will start prescreening candidates for AI psychosis.

We all have blind-spots, weaknesses, and misunderstandings.

Objectively, the software development industry has failed to roll out LLMs as a product. Having to "choose the right model” is a failure (regardless of where you are on the AI hype train).

Quick question for non-native English speakers. When you see acronyms or abbreviations in code bases, is it more or less difficult to understand the code you are reviewing?
For example, “OTP" vs. “OneTimePassword" or “MinNum” vs. "MinimumNumber”?

Watched Sinners yesterday, and while there were parts I enjoyed, overall it was a "meh" movie.
I think the problem for me was that the entire movie was exposition about WWI, organized crime, Jim Crow, the death of loved ones, etc. All the stuff that would have been great storytelling.
You rarely saw what was being described; you just had to imagine it the whole time.
