Sure, automatically translated audio is helpful when our 7yo is looking for Minecraft videos in Swedish that he can understand and follow along with. The stakes are low, and it's just for entertainment. But politics, and most other news subjects, are something else.. @timixretroplays@digipres.club Air source heat pumps are pretty popular in Sweden, where we regularly deal with - 10 to -15 or worse during winter days (not just mornings), in the southern slightly warmer parts of the country. At much lower than that, they'll often need to use direct electric heating to supplement capacity, but things have been improving a lot lately. @huwr@aus.social

It would probably help to set expectations if there were some kind of "weather forecast" that showed up in the page header or something, and indicated the current level of malicious activity you have to deal with on your end. On the other hand, there's obviously a risk that it becomes yet another chore to keep it updated, unless it can be automated in a sensible way.

Somehow it's not quite as fast when it's just me & wife doing the work while juggling family responsibilities, as when people bring in a team of roofing professionals 😂

The years leading up to 2000 were the first few years of my professional career, and a lot of the time was spent in a server room installing firmware patches, monitoring systems after OS patches, etc. Plenty of things that would crash and burn, badly, if it hadn't been dealt with beforehand.
