@josephcox@infosec.exchange Why spend decades and TRILLIONS of dollars to build up brand trust just to piss it away with a free tool for jack-holes on the internet? Unless of course your goal is to completely pollute the information environment...🤔

Congrats to @chedrickgreene@bird.makeup who won the special #election for the #Michigan state senate last night. A Saginaw fire captain and former U.S. Marine, he won with 60% of the vote, defeating Republican Jason Tunney in a crucial special election that keeps Democrats in control of the chamber through the end of 2026. #uspol #uspolitics #VoteVets #elections

Sobering statistics out of that #Michigan #Senate #election ...
Abdul El-Sayed won just 34 percent of the vote in Detroit and lost a majority of votes across counties where less than 30 percent of adults have a college degree.
He did best in the areas of Michigan where incomes were highest & college educated. That is not the promised populist "wave."
I sincerely hope they can change course to broaden their appeal to non-college educated voters. #uspol #uspoliticshttps://www.politico.com/live-updates/2026/08/04/michigan-missouri-primary-democrats-test/michigan-senate-class-divide-01025063
Remember #GOP claimed the "One Big Beautiful Bill" was going to fix the economy? In West Virginia 14,000 citizens have lost their Food assistance, while unemployment has hovered around 4.7%
Since the #OneBigBeautifulBill was implemented, more than 800,000 children have lost their food assistance benefits in the 13 OTHER states that have available data. National total is higher
America is starving children to maintain tax breaks for the wealthy. #uspol #poverty #economy #MAGA

Ladies and Gentlemen -- EVERYTHING in Washington can be turned into a cocktail. So this 4th of July I hope you will join me in lifting a glass of "The Reflecting Pool"
Line the bottom of a martini glass with a Sour Blue Razzberry fruit rollup.
Combine 2 oz white rum with 4 oz pineapple juice, and 1 oz blue Curaçao in a mixer with ice
Shake and strain, then watch it melt
Perfection! Happy 250th #America#uspol #uspolitics #July4th #America250

Statewide primaries for U.S. Senate and #Minnesota governor today will set up races in this fall’s general #election. In #Democratic strongholds of the Twin Cities and ruby red parts of greater Minnesota, Tuesday’s primary election is the ballgame.
Democratic state Sen. Omar Fateh faces two opponents on Tuesday: Jeanelle Austin and Brenda Short.
State Sen. Paul Utke of Park Rapids is facing a challenge from ultra-conservative #GOP Rep. Mike Wiener. #uspol #uspolitics #elections

#Hitler was obsessed with:

- purging the civil service of dissent
- inflaming the populist grievances of his base, and spurred angry young men to take paramilitary action against perceived enemies. #uspol #uspolitics #DOGE

@Doodlelegs@mastodon.social I TOTALLY get it, but that situation isn't going to get better. And his rhetoric toward moderates was offensive and counter-productive - not bridge building so it is going to be an uphill climb to get them on board.
Haley's concession e-mail to donors and supporters was gracious and urged folks to do everything they can to win the seat.
I didn't hear the same from him, and that is a bit arrogant and disappointing. I was looking for it.
OK...so the #Senate seats that are still in play for Democrats are...#Georgia, #NorthCarolina, #NewHampshire, #Alaska, #Ohio
🙏 Pray for magic in Texas, Iowa, Nebraska and/or Montana and for Dems not screw up safe seats.
Bernie's crap judgement is going to cost us Maine and Michigan, sadly. Plattner has 7 days to bow out for the party to be able to replace him with a candidate that won't have to argue about the meaning of "consent" for the next several months. #uspol #uspolitics #elections

@Doodlelegs@mastodon.social The other dynamic is just a normal group dynamic and a weakness of late primaries. It takes supporters a while to recalibrate and get over their anger at losing.
All of the party leaders National and State and County level will say and do the right things to unify the party. But voters can be and are fickle. El-Sayed only has 5 weeks until voting starts for the general election but I am not confident he will put much effort into it.
