The heather starting to flower near Chapel Porth. Wonderful views towards Wheal Coates. A shot from a nice walk yesterday. Despite the tranquil scene here it was pretty blowy!

After the heavy shower passed yesterday at RSPB Ham Wall we were left we these amazing clouds rolling over.
The inclusion of the branches just creeping into frame was deliberate.

That’s a wrap! Day two done at The Photography and Video Show 2026. Always a shame when it comes to an end. But have come away with plenty to think about and get inspired about.
Here is a shot from the wander back to the hotel whilst walking through the NEC.

BIG SKY
We had some wonderful weather at the weekend. This sky near Porthtowan was spectacular, enjoyed the black and white treatment.

ROBIN
Accurate colours in photography is important. I recently picked up a Calibrite Display Plus HL monitor calibration tool at The Photography and Video Show 2026. You can watch some of my thoughts on this product in my latest YouTube video https://youtu.be/4seJXHoh66s?si=SKVLHdm9m9ipuULk
The Robin was taken at Ham Wall on our way to the show. Robin’s are always obliging subjects and I never tire of having a go at getting a shot.

WHEAL PEEVOR
In my latest video I headed to Wheal Peevor. I was hoping for sunset but still got some shots I was happy with… Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/7TKGDg6Dul4?si=BaK1HgvM9PfJrrz6#WhealPeevor #CornwallPhotography #MoodyLandscape #BlackAndWhitePhotography #LandscapePhotography

My new ‘Weekly Edit’ is now live on YouTube (https://youtu.be/9rCC1zvxjX4?si=xqAmUC9sHm0Oqe_8) I edit this image of Swanpool at sunrise. I show how I use the Photoshop Geometry panel to straighten up the buildings in the image to fix the lens distortion. The video includes some other images from that morning.

FROSTY LEAVES
I took this shot in early March when we had a minor frost in Truro. In my latest ‘Weekly Edit’ I show how I use White Balance to enhance the cold feeling of the image. You can watch the full edit here: https://youtu.be/L_yO1ExRDWw?si=O3s1AADhO9UqWMoE

I got up my local high street for 7am. Record store doesn’t open until 9am. I’m still about 10th in the queue 🫠

TREGARGUS WOODS
I recently went to Tregargus Woods for the first time. Somewhere to definitely go back, as there was more to explore. For my ‘Weekly Edit’ video I show how I stacked this image for front to back sharpness in Adobe Photoshop. Interesting article. I haven't used Flickr in years. There certainly hasn't been anything as good since. Platforms like Instagram have just become video driven. There are very few good photography platforms now
It's still early days but hit a small milestone of 50 subscribers to my YouTube channel. Thank you to everyone who has checked it out ☺️

Shame I couldn't watch this today. John was pretty poor in the 1st session and not much better in the 2nd session so this was a real turn up for the books...
