@corbet I got one. We do some sort of trust based network of good work and _human non-AI authors_ and add a search engine to that.

@corbet We could have some democratic group, which gets us a human curated list of good websites - not articles, sites - and they take different topics each. Everyone gets a corner, and then we pull some sort of community early yahoo combined with PageRank. DuckDuckGo got a crawler, maybe they would even help out and get us an exclusive corner away from their other results. And we would have every decision go back to a person, so if someone is really iffy - or an AI - we roll back what they did.
Commercial software spies. Firefox has flaws and is bound to Google money. They are also outspent 4 to 1 by Google. Let's build our own. They use about 200 million a year for FF. We could build from scratch, take years and let Google take over the Internet, or just use Mozillas engine. We raise about 10 bucks a month from 2 million extremely dedicated people, and pay devs to meaningfully maintain and improve it. No AI. One vote per funder. Top 5 wishlist items get executed.
So, some people say that we should bring back forums. The stupid thing about that is that you need a lot of accounts, which makes things more tedious than reddit. What if you could use you Fediverse account for your forums? #forums #forumsoftware #discussion #bringbackforums
