How have eight years passed since these pictures were taken?? @Rob_T_Firefly@masto.hackers.town is my HUSBAND, and I am the luckiest. I-II-III-IV-ever, my beloved.

Meeting one’s spouse with a freshly-cooked meal at the end of a tough day seems like pro-level spousing. It always makes me feel accomplished.

Over the last ten days, @Rob_T_Firefly@masto.hackers.town and I have been in the same place for approximately eight hours. (This is out of the ordinary for us, to say the very least.) I’m so so grateful to be home with you, my beloved.

Sometimes the world seems very small, as connected as we all are. For the most part, anyone I need I can get connected to in a moment.

Sometimes the world seems very big, and I feel very far away from people I love (some who live far away, and some who are away on assignment).

Right now it seems big.

Tonight begins my dad’s yahrzeit, the anniversary of his death. He’s been gone for eight years. It’s surreal, still, and I’ve been feeling his absence more acutely in the last little while. At services this evening I got to talk a little about him:

Well, today I learned that Sears is still doing home appliance repairs. And I learned this because someone in Florida apparently provided my email address to get service on their refrigerator. I am glad to know that my home is the next stop on the technician's route.
