Replying to
@iscdotorg@fosstodon.org "it is relatively easy to test the proposed vulnerability on a real system to determine whether it is actually expoitable. Surprisingly few of these LLM-enabled bug reporters seem to bother to do this, unfortunately. "

Replying to
@iscdotorg@fosstodon.org that is a nice article. Especially given how some LLM is hyped for cranking out security reports.

Replying to
@odr_k4tana @heiseonlineenglish @AAKL article also suggests amd and intel wants to focus on high end cpu and leave the market for mid and low range to arm. But won't be good for pricing and I don't like the trend

Replying to
@26aafa19 @ploum @cstross @ravenbait @nathanael Christian Western Europe in medieval time had to certain extent abolished slavery* The original sin of Western colonizers of was to use racism to justify taking part if the slave trade that already existed in Africa and Middle East. They needed very cheap labor in the colonies. You can't buy any equal human, so they make themselves believe some people are less than human. *the peasant system wasn't free but at least you could (afaik) not be sold

Replying to
@jeremywadhams@tenforward.social @samir@mastodon.functional.computer a lot of programming is creating something which already exists just in a slightly different combination. That doesn't make it pointless. If only, gaining understanding is already extremely useful, often reinventing is the only way to get understanding

@fraunora@chaos.social @ralf@r2.do Good perspective. People can get in trouble when using their company email address wrongly. With having multiple social media accounts to manage I'd imagine that would become even more problematic.

@mekkaokereke a public secret is that right wing extremists are heavily funded by billionaires and multi millionaires and often by authorian states. Something that's not repeated enough by the msm

@algorithmwatch@chaos.social most legislators are only familiar with a consumer served by corporations filter. Shocking volunteer or privately maintained app were not discussed. We could have volunteers or part time sys admins getting million dollar law suites or fines. I hope for the best but fear the worst.

@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange Also, dictatorship isn't more efficient than democracy as too many people believe. Our big problems aren't solved by a strong leader. They are solved by more democracy.

@gunther@wetdry.world I noticed a similar vibe on blockchain, where people oblivious of distributed databases (or databases at all) praised blockchain for exactly that.
