Living in a country where the dominant language is not my own, most often the codes open a webpage which I can easily translate, which is very useful when there are choices and options of the same dish.
As soon as a code takes me to an app install, suddenly my phone has "issues" and we go back to staff service.

Rehiring later will be quitely done.
By then, the CEOs have met targets, given shareholders what they want, and taken their bonuses. Its literally win-win for those in the game. The rest of us aren't even pawns in the game, as pawns have some value. We factor as an expendable commodity.

It's an older Japanese measure, which ends up looking almost like inch measurements, but just off. The old guys that used it are mostly retired now, and so it should be with the tape.

The whole stake should have been, and should still be, nationalised. The money going to public services, not private bank accounts.

The real problem is the makets pile in to the first company that does it, so everyone else by default has to join in.
The CEOs need metrics they can make pretty graphs to put in shareholder reports, so you end up with "use ai" mandates.
If share price goes up throughout any part of this process the CEO has made a "rational" and "correct" decision according to the people that write the CEOs cheques.

I'm not getting it. If a bank lends me money, that is creation of money. It didn't exist before, but now I have it because they believed I could pay it back, with interest. Paying back the loan, with interest, doesn't destroy anything. It just moves money from my hands back to the bank.

yes, your loan goes to zero, but the bank got their money. And arguably you got some asset too.
The money didn't dissappear. It was created through the lending.

What happened to the bank's balance sheet in this completed transaction? Did it go up, down or stay the same?
If their credit risk policy is working, ie borrower didn't default, it went up.

Too late, I already did. But it doesn't get the WiFi password. It's HDMI only. The Xiaomi TV box is probably as bad, but at least it's only the Chinese spying on me. Whatevs.
Thing is, there's not really a lot of choice in OLED TVs ...Was originally going to buy an EIZO monitor, but it was more expensive, and not OLED. And the LG actually does an amazing job at upscaling 720 streams to something watchable.
