@fastfinge Quick, create a Slack, and find some random person to be that invented employee, then have people pay for support tickets.

@NVAccess@fosstodon.org So have found that I can move focus and interact with them using 13+space and 46+space then pressing 8 or space to activate, but things like trying to emulate alt+y do not work.
Replying to
@HauntedOwlbear@eldritch.cafe I still have a 3.5mm splitter I bought for like $0.35 at RadioShack in ~1997
Replying to
@NVAccess@fosstodon.org Yeah it's installed, and they no longer entirely lock me out, but I still cannot move focus or interact with them with the display, just switch off them to other places.
Replying to
@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space Yep I upgraded my phone early just for this when it first rolled out, and use it heavily to take pics of my children.
Replying to
@jonathan859@someplace.social yeah right in Windows Update settings there's a toggle to not restart when in use, and the option to set a time range that it should never restart during

@SyHoekstra I have one at a medical office that I have to remember to locate because otherwise I'll put the side into my sternum cause it's like an inch thick and placed perpendicular to the wall between 2 sets of doors.
Replying to
@Aman I'm aware, I was mainly pointing out you left out OneCore which are quite commonly used
Replying to
@SyHoekstra Yep, small children deal psychic damage after all.
Replying to
@jcsteh@aus.social ah see I have a 7in monitor that I keep stashed away for whenever I need someone to assist in dealing with the BIOS.
Replying to
@SyHoekstra My favorite are large rectangular signs, with a single pole holding them up, placed so that I approach them from the side.
Replying to
@NVAccess@fosstodon.org So the #Braille changes are great, I'm not being locked up by UAC dialogues, but I still cannot interact with them, just back out of them. Any thoughts or do I need to change something?
Replying to
@Aryan@dragonscave.space @pachli@mastodon.social Ok getting it about every 3rd or 4th time when I just tested, and getting significantly slower load times and lag from Current
Replying to
@jonathan859@someplace.social @fireborn@dragonscave.space @TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space Yep the Lenovo IdeaPad, that never played nice with NVDA and lives in a drawer until my daughter needs a computer, has it there. As did the MSI I had before losing my sight, and I think the last of my Toshiba Satellites.
Ok it has been a bit since I did this, and i definitely worded the last one wrong. I'm looking for my fellow #NVDA users to suggest Add-On that are not in the store.I'm on 2026.1, and already use Add-On Documentation, #Braille Extender, Resource Monitor, and VLC.

@LeonianUniverse@caneandable.social @jane_jordan@dragonscave.space let me know how the mod works out, I put over 1k hours into that when I could see.

@pachli@mastodon.social @Aryan@dragonscave.space Yeah I have the latest versions of ANDROID 16 and Accessibility suite, and this has been happening for nearly a year on multiple devices, and started on older builds of both Android and Accessibility Suite

Replying to
@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space @JenMsft@mastodon.social That's rather odd
Replying to
@lexipic@dragonscave.space Why are you on 24.2?
Replying to
@jonathan859@someplace.social The toggle should be on by default, and the default on the range is set automatically based on use patterns, but those both sound like things IT departments would fuck around with.
Replying to
@fireborn@dragonscave.space @TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space @jonathan859@someplace.social Oh most of my laptops in the past placed it there, that's a rather standard position.
Replying to
@Aryan@dragonscave.space @TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space If you do not need a laptop you can get a Mini PC with much better specs for like half the cost of a comparable laptop.
Replying to
@lina@vt.social Additionally as most of the articles noted, and then tried to gloss over, this thing required physical access to the device in question, and admin credentials, which if you already have those why are you bothering with this?
Replying to
@lexipic It's not like they'll do fuck all about it, the same way they do nothing about the ever increasing amounts of scams posted to AppleVis since they took it over. The people I know of who complained about dangerous/illegal posts there were basically told that they did not care.
Replying to
@Aryan@dragonscave.space @pachli@mastodon.social not a clue how to go about that, but this issue has been present for a year or more, I reported it at least twice before now, and just again was trying to reply to someone, typed my response to find it was in the CW they had placed, not the body. I have also tested using my braille display instead of the talkback braille keyboard, and on my Lenovo tablet running android 15, and am getting the same results. I have yet to check Tusky but last I used that this did not occur.
Replying to
@LeonianUniverse@caneandable.social I have 2, they are solid if you go in understanding that voiceview for kindle is very limited, there is 1 voice, you have speed and volume control, and navigation is gestures for back, start reading, and next/previous character or word. I read on mine heavily, the lack of distraction is a huge plus.
Ok so I had to update my #eBay login, which requires dealing with the absolute dumpster fire that is #HCaptcha, they do have the text question which is fine I guess, however I'm unclear if I succeeded or failed so many times that I was forced to reset my password, which either way worked out but still…
@mastoblind@fedigroups.social
Replying to
@lexipic@dragonscave.space Ah, I'm waiting on Braille Extender, I think the Resource Monitor already was updated, and I can live without Add On Documentation, and VLC for now.

Ok people just in case you are not aware of this. Boosts do not appear in Local, making public, or Local Only, posts referring to your last boost are meaningless for anyone not following you, use Unlisted. Also on that subject, everything does not need to be Public, people get tired of scrolling through your hours long conversations with 1 other person, that's what Direct is for.

@TheQuinbox Is your motherboard an Asus one?
Replying to
@jonathan859@someplace.social Ah those could themselves have a forced restart timer set by the group admin
Replying to
@pachli@mastodon.social Hey could we possibly get a change to the More Options menu on tabs to not have it default focus the Remove Tab option, that's umm annoying at times…
Replying to
@NocturnalNessa@infosec.exchange @AutumnWyvern@dragon.style Check your Local/State laws when this comes up, quite a few prohibit businesses from refusing cash.
Replying to
@LeonianUniverse@caneandable.social Oh aditionally setup can be a pain if you do not use the kindle app on your phone to do it, however if you do it's super simple and does all the heavy lifting for you.

@lexipic@dragonscave.space Why not Pachli or Tusky?
Replying to
@Aryan@dragonscave.space @pachli@mastodon.social I get it when using Talkback Braille Keyboard or an external Braille Display. Reply to a post with a Cw and check which edit field it places focus in and activated, it will be the CW not the Body.
Replying to
@Aryan@dragonscave.space @TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space What are you even using?
Replying to
@zersiax@cupoftea.social @MostlyBlindGamer@dragonscave.space Small barrel cactus and a slingshot should do.
Replying to
@pachli@mastodon.social Oh one issue I think got lost, when you reply to a post with a CW theCW edit field is focused and activated, not the body text area.
