mastodon 4.7.2new no new age advanced ambient motor music machine.
I walk the streets of #Naarm / #Melbourne to calm my restless mind, using #FilmPhotography and digital #photography as a way to find beauty in the everyday.
I’ve worked in IT for a long time, and I’m tired. I’d prefer to learn about other things these days (eg. #Thai and #Chinese language), but quietly support a more distributed internet.

It’s a nice day for my first in-between-day. I did one final photography-related favour for someone at my ex-workplace, pottered around the house, and wandered down the street to a cafe I haven’t been to for ages. “I haven’t seen you for a while,” the owner said, but she still remembered my coffee order.
I shall now commence the ritual of signing out of all the work apps on my phone. #today
Remembering that my wife and I were walking home through South Preston junction the other night after dinner, and someone rode past us on the footpath on their bike, with a plush E.T. in a basket at the front. #northside

@decryption@aus.social @adayinthedotcom@mastodon.green my money says it’ll be C41-only (colour negative), and not E6 (slide film) or random black & white, but... I'll give it a go!

@xssfox@cloudisland.nz @decryption@aus.social @adayinthedotcom@mastodon.green I doubt it. I reckon they're assuming most people just want the JPEGs. The page reads like they send it all to a central location to process, so avoiding sending them back feels like an "efficiency”. I knew folks years ago who were like this - "just give me the scans”.
Scan resolution is pretty low ("High-quality JPGs at 1536x1037 in RGB colour”). It's for the disposable camera crowd, essentially, but it'd do in a pinch.
Laibach turn their considerable song reinterpretation skills to ... Foreigner's _I want to know what love is_. Huh.

@skinnylatte@hachyderm.io I’ll be taking notes. Are small jars of chilli flakes controlled substances? My wife’s not going to cope in Europe otherwise.
@sillyCoelophysis @skinnylatte not content with stealing our rainbows, The Gays™ are now coming for our food.

@s0@cathode.church I remember years ago reading someone talking about interviewing people for networking jobs, and somewhere during the interview they’d casually hand the person an Ethernet cable and see if they naturally rolled it up properly, like this.

@futzle @futzle@old.mermaid.town I'm glad I got back in time to read this!
Thanks for taking on what's generally a thankless task, even moreso when unexpected events like the Fediverse's recent one happened.
You've been one of the main reasons Mastodon "stuck" for me over the last year, as opposed to prior attempts, and you deserve to protect your time.

I think I saw a “what’s in my bag” episode last year, where they mentioned wanting to do something different after the final Refused tour. Yay! @oscarwildeboi https://pixelfed.social/p/oscarwildeboi/953610219410603507
