I wasn't totally thrilled when mom decided today that she was going to pick up a baby, but... Honestly, now that I've met her, I'm pretty excited.
I guess I'm ready for another go. Let's do this together, little one.
Baby pup is eight weeks old, now, and doubled in size, so it was time to expand her sleeping quarters. She'd started to push everything out and shred up the pee pads, bless her heart.
I'm using a nice set of snap-together baby panels I found on the curb, back when I had little kittens. It's proving much more effective with a baby who can't climb, lol.
Gotta experiment to find a good size and arrangement, though, so that she's comfortable but not peeing and pooping on the floor.
Taking care of this baby reminds me of when we got our last pup, and the absolute mental breakdown it threw me into. I was scared to death we'd ruin the dog and he'd maul my cat and become a danger to others. I cried when he peed on the floor every fifteen minutes because I feared he'd never be potty trained. It felt like my life was ending.
Everything turned out okay, though.
Now I'm on anxiety meds, and the calamity has turned into, "Ugh, a puppy?"
Feels like taking care of another kitten.

I have a friend who's going to switch to Linux soon, and I warned him that if he asks AI a question about it, he should be very, very careful about the answer, and to avoid anything that says 'rm -rf' unless he means it, and what that command does. He understood. :blobcatmelt:

I'm grateful for the time we had together. She'll always have a special place in my heart.

Hehehe, yes, I know what you mean. There's a flaw in my motherboard that only lets me use two sticks out of four, so I'm stuck with 16 GB, too It's doable, but when my client wants me to do huge formats, it's impossible. :blobcatmeltcry:

@Fragglemuppet I don't know about USB sticks (I have an old wooden cigar box that I keep mine in), but I've got some little cases that were intended for DS and Switch games that works swimmingly for SD cards!

@stux@mstdn.social I think the footage itself is AI (there is a TON of AI footage surrounding these little guys, what the heck??) just because the critter in the video doesn't look like a batfish, but more like a mix of different bottom-dwelling aquarium fish. The actual batfish look a bit like frogs with fat, round tails, like other angler fish.
But the critter is definitely legit!
