It would be nice to have larger resolution icons.
Fonts are limited to true type. Not sure if open type is supported.
Compare/track is not as clever as Word.
It’s not mega stable, though auto save is very good.
Auto numbering not as solid as word.
Other positives:
7. Redaction works nicely.
8. Large document handling is excellent.
9. Bates numbering is built in.
Overall I found its once-only price tag well worth it for my business.

2. (Cont’d). It is human readable, and though I’m not a programmer type, even I can get my head round it.
3. Reveal codes. Often touted as a biggie, it does make a difference. Any weirdness in the text can be isolated very quickly. Finding where an image is located, correcting line spacing etc are really simple.
4. No adverts.
5. No thumbs up icon in the comments box (really!)
6. Ability to open/save to ms formats.
Downsides exist.

#corel #word processing software #wordperfect is on sale.
Its paradigm is different from word and libre office. Theirs is nucleic - each paragraph is standalone, with rules governing next paragraph.
WordPerfect’s is linear. The next paragraph runs on.
But it has many advantages over its redmond rival.
1. Built in ocr. You can run a comparison between a scanned pdf and, say, a word document in one click. That saved me the price of admission in one day.
2. Macro language/merge language.

@sean_ae@post.lurk.org Even awesomer would be if you could somehow record its output and play it back. We can but dream.
