That generally not something the annoying guys even notice And adding something like "I wish I could paint my nails like that" (if you're comfortable with admitting that) would also increase the likelihood that the person in question will just take it as a compliment and won't think you're just trying to get in their pants

@MeierSchulze@norden.social diese Halteschlaufen finde ich aber auch wirklich schrecklich, da stößt man in einem vollen Bus ja schon beim langsamen Bremensen an Haltestellen und Ampeln gegen andere Menschen (weil man normalerweise auch nur eine hat) (Ich verstehe warum es sie gibt (an denen stößt man sich halt weniger den Kopf als an einer Stange die 20cm tiefer auf Höhe der Schlaufen) und dass es besser als nichts ist, aber ich bin immer sehr unglücklich wenn es für mich die einzige Option ist)

But it is necessary if you want to install custom ROMs. So if the manufacturer of your phone adds some stuff you don't want and you just want to install vanilla android (without root and with Google play services) you need to unlock your bootloader)) you fail the play protect certification

But those concerns do not come with the magical ability to detect if something has been generated with genAI, so it seems obvious that they don't hate it, if they don't know it is genAI

Especially if you have rather flat nailbeds and most press ons don't really fit I think that trying out regular nail polish could be a better experience. You could start with a water based one (often marketed to small kids), since that should come off more easily :)

@fallbackerik@mastodon.social @pojntfx@mastodon.social @arjen@idf.social the existence of other apps which were downloaded from other stores/spurces wouldn't be an issue But if you use a phone without Google play services (e.g. lineageOS (although play services can be added later) or grapheneOS) or a rooted phone you won't be able to use that app at all Maybe just having an unlocked bootloader would keep you from using it (that depends on what level of the device integrity the app requires)

But the context is often more "teaching elementary school kids what information is important when calling emergency services" (the answers to all w-questions) or "what information can you convey/do you need?", and not that much about a group of words?

@geolaw @Tacas @Gargron their subtitles for the English dub are also terrible in a way that can only be machine generated without any oversight Besides "misheard" words, missing punctuation and names changing their spelling it is also never clear who says what or when a different person starts talking I hate it so much (and I'm at least able to notice when they are wrong since I'm not deaf and can understand the audio in most cases. It must be worse for others)

@ShaulaEvans@zirk.us I knew that alcohol isn't healthy, but I only learned about the cancer risk a few years ago (I'm from Europe, so not knowing about it isn't just true for the USA), so thanks for sharing that often unknown information! I'm happy I stopped drinking alcohol for unrelated reasons (I just don't like most alcoholic beverages and I don't need/want to get tipsy) before that (The rest of my life is already unhealthy enough, therefore reducing some risks is always great)
