Former furniture shop (ghost sign) in central Edinburgh. Such a lovely use of the oddly shaped piece of land it's on. Almost all the window panes are the original ones, handmade.

Just thinking about all those people in Ontario in the late 60s and 70s when I was growing up, who laughed at me when I told them about the Greenhouse Effect and how they should stop driving so much.
Forest fires were a rarity then, now Canadians talk about "forest fire season". See the connection, change your lifestyle, put pressure on society to ban fossil fuel use.
A friend of mine's husband is quite proud of the fact that the only flower he can recognise and name is the tulip. I've never understood that.
Israel is bombing mosques.
It may have been Tuesday today where all of you are, but where I am it was definitely a Sunday. Time is a weird thing.

@pinhman@humanwords.party Windfarms don't have to be offshore. They are quite often placed on non-arable land on hillsides for example.
I don't understand why "mini" nuclear plants are being offered to the Inuit, it's not like it's not windy up north!

@simon_brooke@mastodon.scot There is a quite healthy second-hand market for EVs. They are usually KIAs and Nissan LEAF, and you can often get one for about the same price as a better e-bike. Having said that, cycling and public transport are still the best option. Me, I decided to opt out of car culture early and never learned how to drive.
