Thanks to those who joined us. It was a modest but enjoyable turnout today for Imbolc. Song topics included Darkness, Light, Imbolc, New Life, Valentine, Groundhog, Horses & Mardi Gras. #SecondLife #VirtualWorlds #WheelOfTheYear

We love #SecondLife places on Mainland that don't look like Mainland. Seogyeoshire doesn't look like content plopped down on Linden land; it looks like a PLACE! #Seogyeoshire #ZanyZenRailway #Jeogeot #VirtualWorlds

Working on sending Gacha spares to the Marketplace. Always priced to move. Does wonders for Inventory capacity.

Maybe it was the blizzard. Maybe it was the right cabin freeing up on the rental board. #WEDFantasyCruise #SecondLife #Cosplay #FantasyCruise #VirtualWorlds
I need to state what should be obvious:
I don't appreciate promotions via IM in Second Life ** unless I've asked for them. **
Why? Simply because I'm getting them somewhere else, either from an inworld group or via BlueSky or here. From then on it's a question of choice or capability like anybody else.
Only two contacts out of hundreds on my list inworld send me info on their monthly event because we do not share the same groups.
I don't "hard sell" my friends & would appreciate the same respect.
Thank you.
How's this for customer service & consumer retention?
Someone has an item in the demo area of an event that involves sitting, picking a pose, adjusting cam, picking tinted lighting... And before I could finish it kicked me off and IMed that it had a limited time for the demonstration (no prior warning or countdown). I IMed them they lost a sale not letting people actually try the features and they sent this back (this was their entire message):
"I mean, after reading your profile, I'm so happy my product didn't satisfy you. Please, by all means, you just made my day!"
When you think maybe a 14 year old snuck into #SecondLife ...

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that I'm not in favor of browser-based or mobile methods.
Cybertown's vrml communities & other "grids" using the Blaxxun platform from late 1990's into the 2010's ran on web browsers.
Then it became word-of-mouth that you needed to use an obscure browser for stability.
Was so happy there was a dedicated application to use for SL when the time came.

I accidentally doubleclicked a cube in my inventory the other day - a random twitch - instead of added and all my attachments were gone. Not sure how, but at 18 years it can still happen.
When I first used a mesh head 3 years ago I learned the value of layer order. You follow instructions like anybody.
Isn't that what mentors are for?

@erikMondrian@fosstodon.org I'm not sure what you mean but I think most things I coveted when I started I am happy they've evolved beyond it.
Such as default skins, old crude landscaping with laggy, over-LI elements, mainlanders not changing their parcel EEP to something better than perpetual total solar eclipse... Oh and badly made sculpted builds that are big sphere (all they need to do is add the sculpt texture either on an inside/hidden face of link a small alpha prim with it). And not turn things phantom that need to be.
Oh and clack clack sounds on high heels or bling on shiny objects (I can forgive the latter if it's not overwhelming & you love a no-mod gem of yesteryear).

@RoLarenRED57@universeodon.com I will be in SL with Tindy exploring things. There's nothing I'll need to see live. :) I sure don't need to listen to Dementia Don's Greatest Hits again.
Let me know if they react near him if he lets out a load.
So nice I'm doing it twice!
Today from noon SLT it's back to Swing Moon for some Pancakes & partying.
It's DJ Holocluck's annual SWING MOON MARDI GRAS celebration!

Festive wear optional but encouraged. All ages welcome.

Never noticed the Day cycles in Library. I do believe the pre-total-eclipse default is therein.
Guess what?
There are TWO more chances to celebrate #Mardigras with me - The first will be this Samedi.
** Saturday noon SLT **
Before returning to Swing Moon I'll be featuring a somewhat altered* set in #NewToulouse this Saturday afternoon from noon SLT. Some tunes I'll always play; a lot I change up. #SecondLife #VitualWorlds #SamediGras

@kinosian@mastodon.sdf.org @erikMondrian@fosstodon.org Thanks Ruby. So wrapping their minds around adding vs wearing, and changing the order of added clothing & cosmetic elements?
I'd have thought repositioning or resizing a hat or something would be more of a showstopper. Or is that it?

@dolari@mastodon.social 16 divided by 7 is 2-1/4 oz? What's that in dog years?

@erikMondrian@fosstodon.org Oh very different things! I like this...
Reminds me of the "casting call" by Firestorm to ask why yea many people who still use their pre-PBR viewer and want them to reach out and explain why.
What if I told you that Tindy and I use the "vintage" skin with Hybrid Mode in FS? To me the new media interface makes no sense.
I have problems with their new inventory system and what they expect of me, so i don't use it. But I do wish I could add my own root folders alphabetized among their own.
When you say lip syncing do you refer to mesh heads or classic? There's a different system for mesh heads which makes syncing impossible (Miko did her whole makeover with the intention of doing podcasts from SL, then abandoned the plan).
