@Holocluck@universeodon.com @erikMondrian@fosstodon.org Well, it's my personal belief that the Mentor experience is quite a bit different from that now, and I'm sorry that you had a rough start. There are still situations where there aren't any Mentors available, simply because there aren't enough people volunteering these days. But we do our best to help 3, 4, or 10 people at once.
I do think that Torley's videos are still quite helpful, yes. I used one to help figure out a flexi-prim issue just a few days ago. :)

@Holocluck@universeodon.com @erikMondrian@fosstodon.org You would think that having signed up for Second Life, the average new resident would have some idea what's in store for them. You would be wrong. Especially with the advent of Project Zero browser-based SL and the mobile app, the friction to sign up for a new account is almost zero. Meaning that people click on an ad, fill in a few fields, and are in the world nearly immediately. They have no concept of what Second Life even is. So, attachments are...mystifying. :)

@Holocluck@universeodon.com @erikMondrian@fosstodon.org When you're thinking about the order of attachments and resizing/repositioning, you're already several levels beyond what the average new resident possibly understands that they can even do. :D
@drahardja@sfba.social Sure, I'm with you there. However, while wealth inequality may be the root of the problem the things caused by it also need to be addressed, quite urgently. The people at the top perhaps aren't twirling their moustaches while discussing some dark plan, but they are still doing bad things and need to be fought in order to save human lives.

@lelanicarver SL is a great place for some low-impact puttering. I hope you find a trike that handles sim crossings better! My house is along the main road in mainland, maybe I'll see you riding by. :)

@jacqueline Claude's actually the one who refused to do that, unless I'm missing something? ChatGPT is the school-bomber.
