Last day of lab. We tried to cook up a bunch of leftover ingredients and did a lot of cleaning. Here’s my experiment with leftover apples, will definitely make again.
Our 15th annual undergraduate research colloquium is now done. It was a great event and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Right as I was announcing the second round of posters, the fire alarm went off! Fortunately it ended up just being a nice 15 min break outside on a cool spring day. I ended the day at a reception for a colleague leaving for a new job. I learned so much from working with her.
Lots of emotions and exhaustion tonight, but also grateful.
Mother’s Day means it’s time to buy herbs and mulch, so I stopped at a local Nursery on the way home. Weeded the front beds and my gardenia. I will sleep well tonight!
Scenes from tonight’s conclusion of a 2 year campaign. We all survived and the baddies were defeated, albeit with a few moments of panic. I liked playing Onara, my starry Druid with a penchant for picking locks - she was a fun one.
Scenes from today’s Mother’s Day hike (4.25 mi/ 6.8km) around Lake Accotink. The leaves and flowers were beautiful; I regularly smelled roses and honeysuckle. This was a new trail for me and it felt busy, with another human almost always in sight. I was surprised a few times by cyclists who did not announce themselves. My new hydration pack worked great and my pace was ok. Proud of myself for getting out there.
Very unmotivated this morning. M is taking an A&P final. We have a big poster session in our college. I need to assign judges for next week’s colloquium. I should probably get out of bed. #ProfLife #SoFuckingTired
