@jonassmith@mstdn.dk I run the Nottingham Natural History Museum's Mastodon account at @GeorgeTheGorilla@glammr.us but it appears to have been overlooked.

Here's an example spread from my new picture book, GREAT DINOSAUR MISTAKES, which will be published in two weeks. There are more preview pages on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4vPmSUW
The book is now widely available for preorder. Published by Fox & Ink Books, cowritten with Jonathan Emmett, illustrated by Stieven Van der Poorten.

Nine years ago today my co-curator Wang Qi and I did a photoshoot with Chris Packham to announce our Dinosaurs of China fossil exhibition. Nine years – ouch. 😱
I wonder what exciting projects Wang Qi and I would be working on now if he was still around.
RE: @GeorgeTheGorilla@glammr.us
The idea of juxtaposing 'storage' with 'display' came from an inspiring visit to the Koenig Museum in Bonn 12 years ago. They had (still have?) a section just like this and I'd never seen anything like it before. It impressed and stuck with me. Now I've copied it!
There will be similar sections like this for wet, osteological, egg, plant, and invertebrate collections in a new gallery at Wollaton Hall #NottNatHist Museum.

@MakerTube@mastodon.social What will happen to existing accounts with content in excess of 2GB that, for whatever reason, don't subscribe?

@LeGaosaure@blorbo.social Not every unicorn dino has such charm, as this one reviewed on my blog shows: https://dinotoyblog.com/tsintaosaurus-collecta/ 😬

@drmambobob If it helps, I have access to Richard's SVPCA website files and database. It's all in bespoke php so beyond my capabilities to manage, but I can provide a backup of everything if that's any use to the SVPCA organisers. I don't have access to the domain registrar so when/if the domain lapses the current site will go down. It would be a shame to lose all the content, for example, there are lots of nice photos from previous meetings.
