@tristen@illo.social this livestream is meant for Kickstarter promotion but I’m happy to answer any additional questions about that! This might be a better resource for the brand questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA-wD89m6jM

@Ember@blobfox.coffee the initial Pro product will be the editing piece running on our infrastructure (and you can host your project on our infrastructure too, optionally). So it’s unlikely we’ll allow folks to self host that part, but you will always be able to build and host your project anywhere you’d like even after you’re using Pro because Pro will be a Progressive Enhancement

@autiomaa@mementomori.social well, I can only say that I’m personally dedicated to proving that this model will work, and both Font Awesome and Web Awesome have shown that the company is also dedicated to this as well for the long term. Please make sure you read the Risks section on the Kickstarter, as I did write that myself and it reflects my feelings on it

“Safer content updates” is a reference to the collaborative editing piece (without requiring developer intervention!)
I did leave a comment for Bob that might help: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fontawesome/build-awesome/comments?comment=Q29tbWVudC00NjgxMjY5MQ%3D%3D&reply=Q29tbWVudC00NjgxNDk0MA%3D%3D
Specifically, the open source project will continue to be open source (not any early access limits there)
