Rising seas could hit shorebirds much harder than expected

Rising sea levels threaten shorebird habitats, especially where roads and buildings prevent coastal wetlands from shifting farther inland.

Post-LGM intensification of marine faulting: resolution-dependent hazard assessment

Abstract. In marine environments, site-specific fault hazard assessments conventionally calculate average slip rates by measuring the displacement of the youngest mappable stratigraphic horizon. However, due to data resolution limits, this horizon is typically tens to hundreds of thousands of years old. Consequently, hazard surveys provide long-term averages that may mask recent, non-linear fault behavior. In this study, we examine how increasing stratigraphic resolution affects the calculated s

Ocean iron fertilization from enhanced mid-ocean-ridge volcanism due to ice-age sea-level falls - Nature Geoscience

Increased hydrothermal iron inputs from mid-ocean ridges, triggered by ice-age sea-level falls, supported higher surface primary productivity during the last two glacial terminations, according to proxy records of nutrient consumption in the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.
