As over half the NHS Trusts that had originally 'encouraged' by NHS England to use Palantir's software have actually stopped doing so, the Statistics Regulator is renewing its investigation into the claims for success put about by NHSE. NHS Trusts have found the claims often to be unsubstantiated & as such the regulator now wants to know how & why NHSE made such claims in the first place. The answer is likely to be summed up by the phrase;' follow the money'! #Palantir #NHS h/t FT

So, is a proposal to 'triage' ADHD diagnosis a way of introducing rationing into this expensive & crisis ridden part of the health service, or a recognition that pre-diagnosis interventions & support may be sufficient for milder cases of ADHD? Even if it is the latter, trust in the ADHD diagnosis process has been so skewed by the support implications of a successful diagnosis that such reforming proposals are always going to prove contentious. #ADHD #NHS #politicshttps://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/sep/17/plan-limit-number-nhs-patients-diagnosed-adhd-rationing-healthcare

Today, I am going to have a small battery pack connected to small gold wires that are coming out of the top of my skull. Hopefully, this will power up a device in the centre of my brain that will send electrical pulses to the nerves that run down my legs, controlling them. Then, I should be able to walk around pain-free for the first time in nineteen years Modern science and the #NHS can not ever be thanked enough ❤️

If you live in the area covered by the Cheshire and Merseyside NHS Trust & are unhappy about the NHS' use of Palantir, then you will be concerned to note the Trust is now adding GP patient data to Palantir's platform, in an extension of how the contract(s) have been presented. It may be time to make clear to your local practice you do not want your information shared with the contentious US software corporation.... #Palantir #NHS #politics h/t FT

AI agents are political. I've recently been using a couple of A-I agents to get information on my new medical condition (yes, I know, I know) and they've been largely helpful and seemingly accurate. I've just had an 'argument' with Infomaniak's Euria. It framed surgery for gynaecomastia under the NHS as unavailable "due to lack of funding" . When challenged it accepted that it was a policy choice based on clinical evidence. It went further and accepted that it was lazy wording and the words definitely had a political bias. (This wasn't the only thing I caught it out on, but was by far the most troubling) The summary seems to be - AI agents are not neutral and have many inbuilt biases #AI #NHS #infomaniak

Palantir are ripping off the NHS: Using revised estimates on the benefits to the NHS of Palantir's software (which you recall NHSE misrepresented) the benefits are lower than the (now revised & higher) costs of deploying the technology. In other words the use of Palantir's software imposes a cost on the health service (costs are now projected at over £1bn, while projected benefits have fallen to less that £900m) leaving a clear logic for ending the contract! #Palantir #NHS #politics h/t FT

More cuts to NHS staff & services, this time around mental health provision in East London... this is what happens when austerity meet budgeting requirements to 'balance the books'. Its just one more example of the tendency posted about over the weekend to see the health services as a cost to be controlled, rather than to see good health contributing to the value of the UK economy. #NHS #MentalHealth #politicshttps://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/aug/03/nhs-mental-health-trust-plans-25m-in-cuts-to-jobs-and-services

NHS Data Privacy: Opt outs I find it fascinating that while the NHS Digital has automatically opted us IN to share all our medical data with the likes of Palantir, to opt OUT requires manual paper forms, signed, to your GP clinic. These: 1 - To prevent data consolidation with NHS Digital from all sources You can opt out of either: a) sharing Summary Care Record additional information (SCRai) b) even having an SCR https://digital.nhs.uk/services/summary-care-records-scr/scr-patient-preference-form 2 - To prevent data sharing by the primary source, your GP clinic, register a "Type 1 Opt Out" with them (This should be done in ADDITION to the current "National Data Opt Out" available online) https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/about-the-nhs/opt-out-of-sharing-your-health-records/ 🚫 I am about to enact both 1 & 2 with my GP. 3 - THEN there is also something called a "GP Connect Opt-out" which I'm not sure how that interacts with our data yet (?) https://digital.nhs.uk/services/gp-connect/gp-connect-in-your-organisation/transparency-notice#opting-out-of-gp-connect ⚠️ So I plan to discuss what a GP Connect Opt out does with my UK GP clinic. Updates as and when I find more. #NHS #UK #Privacy #Palantir

RE: https://mastodon.social/@workingclasshistory/117001426325308788 Peter Thiel and Alex Karp hired the fascist grandson of Oswald Mosley to run Palantir in the UK. a Mosley is being paid to destroy the #NHS by gringo techbros.
Quoting
#OtD 29 Jul 1962 fascist Oswald Mosley tried to march with the Union Movement in Manchester, UK. However, he was attacked by anti-fascists and had to be rescued by police. A Mosley speech later was drowned out by a crowd of anti-fascists. More info: https://www.patreon.com/posts/e37b-62-group-in-34110286

"NHS England has admitted that a data protection document inaccurately stated who could access patient information, failing to disclose that Palantir staff could view identifiable data held within part of its Federated Data Platform." #NHS #Palantirhttps://www.theregister.com/public-sector/2026/07/29/nhs-england-rapped-over-inaccurate-palantir-patient-data-disclosure/5280233

Given all the interest in Palantir, its likely a good time to post this map of their UK network of contracts, as researched & prepared by the Nerve six months ago.... The Nerve's full story is here: https://www.thenerve.news/p/palantir-technologies-uk-government-contracts-size-nuclear-deterrent-atomic-peter-thiel-louis-mosley with links to their ongoing investigation(s) into Palantir's contracts with the UK public sector. #palantir #politics #NHS

I'm back from the GP. Sent an online form to the #NHS surgery at 08:50 today, at 09:20 I got a text with an appointment at 10:30. Went in to see the GP at 10:20. Can't fault that. He was absolutely convinced that the low mood I've been experiencing, alongside the occasional nightmares, and slightly odd behaviour, are all due to the Finesteride I was prescribed for my enlarged prostate. He implied that I shouldn't have been prescribed it because of my history of depression. He agreed that I'm right to stop taking it, but the mood issues may not resolve quickly. I'm waiting for a referral to a Urologist now. Result! #Finesteride #BPH #MentalHealth #Depression

So, after NHS England's claims that Palantir's technology had raised patient discharges de-clogging hospital handling capacity were queried for being based (largely) on one London hospital's experience (incidentally with good links with the tech firm), now the Health Foundation in independent research on the issue has concluded (confirmed) the deployment of Palantir's software has made 'no meaningful difference' to discharge delays across the NHS! Its a con! #NHS #Palantir #politics h/t FT
