@elCelio Indeed. And at least in Finland, the idea is that we want to ban smoking altogether. Slowly we make it more and more difficult for companies to market and sell smoking products, because we know they are not good for anyone.
Not so with social media. It’s good for anyone to connect with other people. We just want to remove the exploitation.

@iju I’m totally agreeing with you.
The absurdity I was trying to point out: plans to force age checks don’t make sense, if the goal is to keep “young Europeans (aged 16–29)” safe (I’m citing @EUCommission’s picture here). Verifying that a young person is of age does not make them more safe, if they are then still exploited the same way than without the age checks.
What age-appropriate special protections would we require specifically for 16–29-year-olds?

My understanding is that with Algorithms (with capital A), the user is not in control. In that sense, Spam filtering with Bayesian methods is not an Algorithm (again, with capital A), when the user does the training themself.

That day here “... the price remained at the minimum level of -500 EUR/MWh for a total of 10 hours”.
