I’ve often reflected on how I was far more happy when I was young and totally disinterested in politics. Pretty much decided a couple years back I would try to return to that after this vote, win or lose.

At my age I need to enjoy my remaining days, not live in a giant angst bubble

@silviar@mstdn.social Being young then made it easier. Always focused on my personal future: college, military, wondering about marriage and family, etc. Too busy to worry about politics.

Still, will give it a whirl.

@JonChevreau@mstdn.ca True. But I quit Facebook a few years back. Twitter is history. My use of Mastodon is nowhere near my former presence on Twitter. I still post travel pics on Instagram. I check national headlines, but don’t subscribe.

Might be easier than we think.

Will be avoiding cable TV for the most part this evening. Especially Kornacki. A good guy, for all I know, but he just annoys the hell out of me. Makes me feel like I'm watching an NFL game, and he's the hyper-dramatic color commentary. 😂

Idle Thought: From cable TV to YouTube, it's impossible to escape those St. Jude's fundraising commercials.

Mind you, it's a fine institution, as far as I know. But last I read it's already sitting on cash equal to five years operating at its present burn rate.

The commercials must run a few hundred times a night on cable alone, and I'm growing damned annoyed by them.
