This reminds of the 2 last times my country offered a real democratic vote (i.e. referendum): one was about shortening the time for our elected king from 7 to 5 years (in 2000) and the other one was about the EU Constitution (in 2005), to which most of my fellow citizens voted ‘no’ but their choice has never been acknowledged. #democracy #eu #europe #politics

@ukrdef@mstdn.social There are better ways than just ‘shutting down’. Do we want to look like the enemy in the process of fighting against it? What’s the point in being a haven for freedom if the haven ends up like a censorial hell? What people need is education. And as for X and Meta, let Europe start with making the companies finally pay the proper taxes. But shutting them down will totally backfire in the European population.

I get many boxes instead of the expected characters. I understand it’s not an emergency, but I’m just pointing at some room for a possible later improvement. Anyway, it works very well. Thanks. 🙏
