The TWE project is new and we are ourselves figuring out on the way. So please be nice to us.
If you want to help us out and edit the wiki reach out to us via signal and we'll give you an account.
Info is on the wiki.
-= we hoped we never had to do this but here we are and now we have to do this =-

Along the exit routes we collect visa types, the state of trans healthcare and legislation to protect trans humans.
So far, we only have information for a small number of countries, but: it's a wiki! So please help adding missing information for places you have knowledge of. Focus on vetted information, ideally from first-hand experience or at least trusted sources.
If you have further questions reach out to us, we will try to find answers for them and add them to the wiki

This also means we are not done. We will never be done we're afraid.
We will add more countries, more routes, more information over time.
But everything has to start somewhere and this starts now and here.

We've been working hard on the content for the last week, incorporating a lot of your feedback: better readable mobile site, better fact checking, more countries.

@MurmeltHier@climatejustice.social We've adjusted the page to provide a more balanced look. We already noticed and had a note to that regard in there, but didn't get around fixing the actual text yet. Feedback welcome!

@HauntedOwlbear@eldritch.cafe You're right. While this is just general information on how things work, we need to be more specific there. I do expect the situation with regards to this change soon though. Might need some legal battles.

@ErinRose@chaos.social Yep, that's why that comment is in there. There's a team of people with actual experience working on improving the page as we speak, there's an explicit instruction text for editors now that tells people not to use an LLM and to best use direct experience only, and there's a copy editing process to fact check everything.

@dymaxion@infosec.exchange Just to be very clear, Nexus is their own organization, they're not us. We just happen to be in contact.
And as I said, it's best to vet them through community channels, not based on some web site or what someone talks about on Social Media. If you're in queer spaces in the Bay area, you'll find them in meat space easily.

@dymaxion@infosec.exchange Building trust for a project like that while at the same time protecting the people involved is a tricky challenge. Having to start helping people quickly vs. the time it needs to build trust is another dilemma.
Trans people in the US might still have a local community that in turn might trust someone in the Bay. Some person well known in the community might step forward and go talk to them and write about it.

@dymaxion@infosec.exchange There wasn't any moving company prior to this. Their advice on this is to reach out through existing trans networks to vet them, they're likely only two degrees of separation away.

@dymaxion@infosec.exchange We're on their (quite busy) org channel. They exist and are real.

@alxndr@tech.lgbt The person running it is very active in our community. Used to be in sports management, but had to leave this business after transitioning. They're now running festivals, and try to apply their logistics skills to a new business. The service to trans people is paid for by a fundraiser.

@Xtrems876@tech.lgbt Any suggestion on what to improve is very welcome. Send me CSS snippets, and I will integrate them. I thought it wasn't looking too bad on mobile, tbh, but better is always good.
