hometown 4.5.18+hometown-1.2.1I like having fun and being cool on the internet.
If you want to know more check out my pinned toot(s). The info there is probably more up to date and relevant than anything I'd write here!
I also run the labyrinth.social instance. See @admin@labyrinth.social for posts about that

@nash@labyrinth.social honestly gunpla model building at the public library would be a great community event, if maybe a bit too expensive

@cwebber you laugh but this will be a godsend for all the people clamoring to spend more time talking to such a famously charismatic, personable, cool guy

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca I can definitely imagine a few ways LLMs could make a search experience "better" but idk if the amount of "better" is worth the resources
if nintendo wanted to remake a beloved first party classic anthro game produced by shigeru miyamoto as a modern high budget AAA game with gorgeous cinematic cut scenes, it really should have been this one
just finished a ten week writing class! I'm gonna miss my classmates so much, they've all been so fun to read and talk with
Got my #gally1 room reservation! see you there in February!

Nobody ever talks about how Jake Lloyd looks cool as shit in the Jedi outfit we very briefly see him wear at the end!

@davidgerard@circumstances.run idk how new this is but I recently noticed YouTube shorts pushing a "reimagine" feature where you're prompted to use the short as the basis for an AI slop video based on it (like, take the guy in the video and make him do a little dance, or a spider falls into frame and everyone freaks out)
new "fans in an uproar because a beloved classic character was redesigned and they don't find the redesign fuckable enough" just dropped. but this time it's furries
my new phone arrived yesterday and my new phone case was delayed to today and I'm living in terror
people say the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" books are good but I don't believe something with that name can be good. Don't reply telling me it's actually good. I'm not capable of believing it.

This is just musing, not related to a current situation in my workplace, but:
I wonder if there are any resources out there to help people articulate a business case against AI use in their workplace to their managers?
Or, advice for those seeking exemptions from AI mandates for mental health reasons (like an ADA accommodation or similar)
I decided to watch season 2 of jury duty and honestly idk if I can make it through the first episode. There’s something about the season 2 premise that feels grosser to me than season 1
sometimes I think it might be fun to play Marvel Snap again, but then I remember they nerfed Magik so she no longer works after turn 5 which was, for me, the main thing that was fun about that game

Pretty good movie imo if it weren’t for all the insanely racist parts
I didn't realize that the new carly was a double album until I listened to it. didn't even look at the track list. blessings abound

this isn't fair, there's usually at least one really good one per album. "New Wave Will Never Die" on the new album is great

@perlman@indieweb.social Yeah, this looks like a decent resource albeit a little bare bones.

There’s actually an excel battle a week from this Thursday and then the qualifiers are on the Saturday after that, it’s weird they did that. But I dont expect to make it to that battle so if I’m gonna get some practice in before the qualifiers I’ll have to fit it in on my own time
I know the name of the lead singer of Belle and Sebastian is Stuart Murdoch, because I just looked it up. But soon I will forget his name and start referring to him the way I usually do: Terry Underwear

For my first hero path I picked dietrich because he seemed the weirdest one and I was not disappointed. He’s a total freak and your first recruit on his path is an even bigger freak. He has what I like to call “zero time dilemma energy”
Wild how different Lindsey Jordan’s voice sounds on all three Snail Mail albums. (I know it’s for medical reasons! I just mean it’s striking)
