Daily posts are working well, but I want to stay quiet on social (naturally). Simple end-of-week summary feels OK. Reposting this from last Friday, to start a thread that I hope to continue.
🌱 Summary of the week:
- Take time to study / woodworking + craft
- Multitasking hurts / constraints
- Preparation helps / walk around the hillside
- Chunk big stuff up / use a work surface
- Read aloud, to hear / Le Guin advice
My book, Flexible Typesetting, originally published by A Book Apart, is now freely available as a PDF: https://flexibletypesetting.com/
On my website, I wrote about why I decided to make it free: https://tbrown.org/notes/2024/10/26/flexible-typesetting/
Get your copy, and let’s move design forward together.

I know this is sorta the opposite of the IRL experiences @nazhamid@mastodon.social talks about… just got to wondering about capturing a similar feeling.

And thanks for the reminder, great of you and Mat to make that happen. 🙇 As I move forward planning a web book, I’ll check it out for sure.
