New server, new #introduction!
I’m Rhys — a #writer, #solarpunk and #druid in my late 20s. I use they/them pronouns. I’m #nonbinary, #bisexual, #polyamorous, #AuDHD, #vegan and #workingclass

New website, new #introduction!
I'm Rhys, a storyteller, #librarian, and #archivist living in Leicester, UK. I use they/them pronouns.
I have a rich background working in multimedia #storytelling, oral #history, guerrilla #journalism, and #ethnography. More recently, I’ve expanded into #libraries and #archives.
Outside of work, I’m a budding #gardener, #solarpunk, nature #photographer, #druid and #anarchist. I’m proudly #neurodivergent (#AuDHD) and #queer.
My website: https://syhr.neocities.org/

@tinker@infosec.exchange I know the Linux kernel and Ubuntu are tainted, but I personally use @elementary@mastodon.social and it's a joy. Run by the wonderful @danirabbit@mastodon.online

Give it a month and the weeds will be triffids. Last year they were out of control.

My favourite is FFXII, of course... But I've also played and enjoyed IX, XII (currently replaying), XIII and XV

@foolishowl@social.coop Same with answering the door – I’m not sure it’s primarily a tech industry issue. Individualism is the root cause, and tech has certainly helped amplify it, but it’s ultimately neoliberalism and its architects that shaped society into this.

@smallsolar I love this! I live in a 'conservation' area so it would be great to learn about the different ways people are doing stealth solar.

And before people say "What about XYZ app?"
I've tried them all. Trust me. Google Maps is quick and powerful. The closest thing is Organic Maps / CoMaps but even they fall short when trying to find specific things

@patric @Tutanota Generally their clients lack standard accessibility features, and I think adding them should be made a priority. No accessibility policy on their website too that I can see.
An alternative would be a mail/calendar bridge to allow use of third party clients while keeping encryption intact (this is my preferred method, because it gives users more choice). And, of course, desktop drive integration so users can use OS level accessibility features.

@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social I'll get some Weedol. I'm always wary of any sprays because of Glyphosate, but good to know it doesn't use it.

@tinker@infosec.exchange OpenBSD has a permissive AI policy and condones AI ingestion: https://codeberg.org/ethical-foss/open-slopware#bsd-based
HyperbolaBSD and MirBSD have anti-AI policies. NetBSD allows core maintainers to sign off on LLM generated code, but to date they have not yet.

@natz_b@mastodon.social All good suggestions! One thing I forgot to mention is we do get a lot of slugs, but possibly spraying the weeds with salt as someone else suggested could deter them on the whole?

@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social Interesting – because the garden is near several old outdoor toilets and coal stores, they're everywhere.

@natz_b@mastodon.social also to answer your question: I think, as a first step, flowers would be good to encourage pollinators, because there's no wildlife whatsoever near my house. What do you think?

@shadows@beige.party @natz_b@mastodon.social I'd need a perimeter of copper tape around the whole garden tbh 😂

@TheTempleMom@pagan.plus my only concern with this is that back wall is quite damp and I don't want to add to that. The other wall isn't suitable for vertical because there's a lot of fixtures in the way
