On the 50th anniversary of #Apple I almost forgot to mention the third Steve who helped make the Cupertino computer maker SO successful in the 21st century.
Thank you Steve Ballmer for everything you did to help Apple thrive (Windows Vista, Zune, Courier, Nokia Windows Phone)! 🤣
Happy 50th Anniversary Apple!
The Apple Computer Company was founded by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs & Ronald Wayne, April 1, 1976, in Cupertino, California.
Thank you for bringing Xerox Parc's GUI to the masses and thank you for HypeCard and PostScript and electronic publishing and everything else!
Thank you for giving me 20+ years of great computing going back to the Apple II and including:
1 Macintosh IIci (25 MHz!!!)
1 Performa (forget which kind)
1 Mac "Luggable" (lead acid battery!)
1 Powerbook 500 ("Blackbird")
1 Power Mac G4 tower
1 iBook G3 clamshell (1GB HDD!)
1 "Lucite" Macbook
1 Aluminum Macbook Pro.
Big neighbourhood turnout Wednesday evening at South Granville St & West 10th Ave to remember my friend Simon Murphy, a beloved #homeless binner who made #Vancouver Fairview his home for six years. Attending were his three siblings who were overwhelmed by the response! Over 50 residents showed up - some unhoused and some binners but mostly housed - all with happy stories to share about knowing Simon. Don't think there has ever been anything like it in Vancouver!
Thanks to everyone who showed up - especially Simon's sibling - and kudos to the weather, which cooperated wonderfully. And...
I really miss Simon!
