Words for hire. Canadian, so… funny-ish? West Coast. Foodie. Oxford commas are a hill I’ll die on. Traveller. Anti-Nazi, pro-science.
In 2015, I sold everything to travel the world for over 4 years. I stopped 3 months before the pandemic. 25 countries in the Before Times? Worth it.
I share photography, tasty things, & cooking tips. I'm also political, left-leaning. Victoria, Canada.
And I swear. A lot.

If YOU want to buy ESTABLISHED PLANTS so you have a plug-&-play garden with less of a learning curve, then go you!
You buy that shit, man! Plant those plants!
Insta-food-garden? Fuck, yeah!
Don't you let ANYONE shame you for taking shortcuts that get you planting & growing your food. However you get that hobby started, let it empower you!
These "plant seeds, not seedlings" people are HARMING the grow-your-own-food culture.
Whatever gets you gardening is a beautiful thing. Just grow it.
Very important recipe to share with you -- this is the official Pouding Chomeur they serve at national events in the Governor General's mansion here in Canada.
Pouding Chomeur is basically like yellow cake meets sticky toffee pudding and maple syrup.
Easy, delicious, and a fine way to honour Canada Day, wherever you are!
I decided the most appropriate breakfast to honour Lindsay Graham’s glorious demise is a waffle with bacon and eggs.
The waffle in honour of his famous Trump tweet, scrambled eggs because he was a chickenshit, and bacon because he was a GOP pig.
Perfect. Anyhow.
Tastes like Schadenfreude.
Happy Canada Day Eve.
The most popular delivery meal in Canada is Butter Chicken.

Back when I went nomad in 2015 for a few years, it was because of 3 things, really:
1) a 2014 speech of Putin's that made his imperialist goals clear, and I was worried there would be a European war within the decade
2) I was incredibly unhealthy and feared my time was limited
3) I worked on a 6-part series about 'climate change tipping points,' in which all 6 tipping points were officially now 'tipped'.
Every country I went to, someone said "this weather isn't normal" at some point.
Do not, under any circumstances, listen to this song.
Don’t. You’ve been warned. It’s too catchy. It’s too energetic. It’s French. You won’t understand a thing. But you’ll love it. Forever.
So don’t listen to this, one of Canada’s top 100 songs ever.
I WARNED YOU. #canadaday
Heatwave mastery unlocked:
Midday Costco delivery so I have All The Things, but also a roasted chicken so I can have a sandwich for lunch and a salad for dinner.
GENIUS.
Feeling optimistic about tomorrow’s game against Switzerland with the stat that, in their last 33 international matches, Canada have only lost 5 games. 🤷♀️
Their last 3 Vancouver-games-played scores?
6-0, 6-0, and 4-0.
