@mikalai @mastodonmigration @metin I am a teacher, and I don't even try to detect AI made assignments. I only explain at the course beginning that all take home work is meant as extra training, and not doing it themselves in good faith (or with judicious AI usage) is just shooting themselves in their own feet. After all, they still have to sñ take problem solving written exams with no electronic aid nor support notes. The difficulty is scaled down to take into account those limitations.

@mikalai @mastodonmigration @metin I get your point about not taking shortcuts (like using punctuation to detect "humanity" or lack thereof). I was referring to specifically to this article https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2025/06/26/em-dashes-hyphens-and-spotting-ai-writing/ from June '25. Rereading it now, the article even suggests that relying on dashes usage for detecting AI text is likely to become not effective in just a few months, as the AI tools (and their usage by people) change.
