@b0rk@social.jvns.ca Great explanation. For anyone who may still not understand this or prefer a video, I highly recommend watching this one: https://youtu.be/YEBfamv-_do?si=rEEW5MdYTOrbzhBU&t=138

@gunchleoc@mastodon.scot @profoundlynerdy@bitbang.social Thank you for that. I'm an idiot! 🤦‍♂️ In that case, I change my recommendation to https://www.manning.com/books/modern-c
Modern C - Jens Gustedt
Manning Publications

Modern C - Jens Gustedt

Write cleaner, faster, and more secure C code with modern techniques.

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca @divVerent@misskey.de Not sure what you're asking but might it be like the mixing paint example in the video I linked to? In that example, Alice and Bob share a common paint color to which they mix their secret color. They share that combination with each other, add their secret color again to arrive at a shared secret key. Horrible explanation on my part which the video does a much better job at. But I probably am completely misunderstanding your question in which case ignore this!

@tao@mathstodon.xyz The same thing is already happening in the field of computer security. Whereas we previously awarded prestige and compensation to those researchers who were able to find and disclose zero-day vulnerabilities, we now need to shift our focus and efforts to those who are able to classify, triage and remediate the large volumes of findings coming out of the various AI models. There is an abundance of things to fix while there is a dearth of people to fix them.
